Sharing some amazing resources from The Contented Child, Child Wellbeing Consultancy we know there are many of us dealing with the ‘Sunday dread’ and the ‘return to school worries’. Be kind to yourself as we know how difficult the next few days may be for many of us

Sunday Emotional Reset (Save This for Tomorrow)

Tomorrow isn’t about uniforms or bags.
It’s about helping children feel emotionally ready to return to school.

After a break, many children feel a mix of excitement, worry, sadness, and overwhelm — even if they can’t name it yet. That’s not a problem to fix. It’s a nervous system asking for support.

Sunday is your chance to slow things down.
Lower the emotional load.
Create space for feelings without rushing to reassure.
Offer regulation before logic.

Small, intentional moments tomorrow can make a big difference to how Monday feels — especially for children who struggle with transitions, anxiety, or after-school restraint collapse.

👉 The Extended Parent Handout, Sunday Emotional Reset is available as a free download — instructions in visual.
Save this post today and come back to it tomorrow.

We are so privileged to work with families and young people everyday. Here is just some of the feedback the team have received from some of the families in the past few days

- I don't know how I can thank you enough for always listening, supporting, being on the end of the phone and letting me vent on the days when its hard.

- You don't understand how important you have become in our family - you are our person. You never judge, you never criticise, yet you can always tell us the truth, even when we don't want to hear it!

We are hiring for new team members. Do you think you have what it takes to work alongside our families? If so we can't wait to hear from you. Head over to our website www.parenttoparent.uk/workwithus where you will find more information and links to our online application forms.

🌟We are HIRING!!🌟

Are you the single parent of a child who struggles to attend school? You’re not alone, join us at OPFS for a 6-week online support group for parents of children unable to attend school. Over six weeks, Trauma Informed Parenting founder, Suzanne Scott and Trauma Coaching, Christianne Harrison will guide 90-minute online sessions that offer understanding, community, and shared wisdom. Together, we’ll explore the emotional impact of school-based distress on both children and parents, while building connection, compassion, and hope. This group is not about fixing or finding quick solutions — it’s about being seen, heard, and supported as you navigate this challenging journey alongside others who “get it”. You are not alone.

Join us as we come together to listen, share, and begin to heal one conversation at a time.
