Dundee & Angus Boys Brigade Battalion held its annual solo and bands competition on Saturday 18th April 2026.

Well done to all that competed in the competition and also to all the prize winners. It was great to hear so many great performances and see all the members gain invaluable experience along the way.

We would like to thank our judges for the competition - Bryan Sinclair, Martin Sinclair and Catriona Gaul

We would also like to thank McCallum Bagpipes Ltd for their generosity in donating fantastic prizes for all of our competitions. This is massively appreciated and was certainly appreciated from all of the prize winners.

BB Dundee & Angus Battalion: Band and Solo Competition.

Competition Info:

Venue - Lochee Baptist Hall, Bright Street & tuning in 6th/8th BB hall, Bright Street.

Start Time - 9am

Finish Time - 1pm at the latest.

Uniform - kilts, BB tops, badges, white socks. If you dont have a kilt, please wear black trousers and BB tops/badges.

I would suggest you give yourself plenty of time for tuning, practice etc prior to your competition starting.

Drummers - please make sure you have organised pipers to play for you on Saturday

FIFA - Battalion 2025

A fantastic and competitive day today, with 16 boys participating in this year’s FIFA Battalion.

1st Place🥇- Lewis McGregor (6th/8th Dundee)

2nd Place🥈- Adam English (42nd Dundee)

3rd Place 🥉- Cody Ogilvie (6th/8th Dundee)

A massive congratulations and great effort to Lewis McGregor - who must’ve had an advantage of the physical support of his dad and grandad, not much got in his way to finish 1st. A phenomenal achievement from him. It’s fair to say his best result was a thumping 6-1 in the final.

Our runner up was Adam English from the 42nd Dundee - who has come runner up 2 years in a row now, and no doubt hoping to make next year the winning year for him. Great effort from him, who performed great on the day but a storming performance from Lewis was just too much.

This tournament was conducted in a group stage format, with the top 2 progressing to the quarter finals onwards. We also gave the boys a second chance of silverware by playing a 3rd/4th Place play-off - with Cody Ogilvie holding the pressure with some park-the-bus tactics against Danyal Naseer to take a Bronze Medal. Great participation to all 16 boys today; and to our guests at 42nd Dundee.

The Boys Brigade start back 142 Year ago from one group in Glasgow formed on this day in 1883, today we celebrate 142 years of the Boys Brigade.
Happy Birthday! 🎂 ⚓️
