πŸŽ™οΈ A huge thank you to our wonderful supporter, Ruth, at Greatest Hits Radio! πŸ’œ

After seeing our recent post about winning the recent DG Chamber Outstanding Social Enterprise Award, Ruth kindly invited us to take part in a short interview, which is being broadcast on their D&G news bulletins today between 2pm and 7pm.

We're incredibly grateful for their continued support in helping us raise awareness of the work we do here at Horses4Help CIC and the positive impact our ponies have on the lives of children, young people and adults across our community.

If you missed the broadcast, we've included the recording below, just click on the picture. πŸ‘‡

As a reminder, we do not offer riding. All of our sessions are ground-based and open to everyone, with no previous pony experience required.

Through interaction with our ponies and nature, we help people build confidence, resilience, emotional wellbeing, communication skills and meaningful connections in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment.

If you'd like to find out more or arrange a visit, we'd love to hear from you.

Changing lives, one pony at a time. πŸ’œπŸ΄

πŸ’œ We were absolutely delighted and incredibly grateful to have been named Outstanding Social Enterprise at the Dumfries & Galloway Business Awards 2026 after being finalists last year. πŸ’œ

This award means so much to us and is recognition of everyone who has supported Horses4Help along the way – our wonderful participants and families, our volunteers, supporters, funders, partner organisations and, of course, our amazing ponies. 🐴

At Horses4Help, we are passionate about creating a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where children, young people and adults can build confidence, improve wellbeing and develop valuable life skills through connection with our ponies and nature.

To be recognised alongside so many outstanding businesses and organisations across Dumfries & Galloway is a huge honour.

Thank you to DG Chamber, the judges, and everyone who has believed in what we do.

Here's to continuing to change lives, one pony at a time. πŸ΄πŸ’œ

🐴✨ Murdos Motivational Monday ✨🐴

Just like our ponies, we don't need to race to reach our destination. Sometimes the most important thing is simply taking the next step.

This week, be kind to yourself, celebrate the small wins, and remember that confidence grows one challenge at a time.

You are stronger, more capable, and more resilient than you think. πŸ’š

Have a wonderful week from all of us at Horses4Help. 🌿🐴

Why is it that when Rosie eats, she is the noisiest and messiest eater of them all, yet we find it adorable? 😍🐴

In contrast, if my husband eats coleslaw next to me, I have to use all my willpower not to react! πŸ™ˆπŸ€£πŸ€£

Happy Friday all, hope you've had a good week. πŸ™

Is anyone else wondering where summer went? β˜”πŸ΄

It's another day of relentless rain here at Horses4Help, and whilst we know we can't control the weather, the impact it's having is becoming increasingly difficult.

The constant wet weather is affecting everything. Our fields are becoming waterlogged and damaged, making it harder to safely carry out activities. The ponies are spending more time sheltering from the elements, and like us, they aren't enjoying months of rain and mud. Most importantly, many of our clients are missing out on the therapeutic benefits of being outdoors in nature with the horses – something that is at the very heart of what we do.

At Horses4Help, we provide therapeutic horsemanship sessions that support children, young people and adults with mental health challenges, learning difficulties, confidence building, mindfulness and personal development. The connection between people, horses and nature is incredibly powerful, but this weather is slowing down sessions and reducing opportunities for those who need them most.

As a small not-for-profit CIC, cancelled or reduced sessions have a real impact on our ability to cover the everyday costs of caring for our wonderful ponies and maintaining the centre. The ponies still need feeding, bedding, farrier visits and care every single day, rain or shine. 🫢🫢

If you've ever thought about supporting Horses4Help, now would be a wonderful time. Whether that's booking a session, sharing our posts, recommending us to someone who may benefit from our services, fundraising, volunteering or making a donation, every bit of support helps us continue helping others. Continued community support is vital to achieving our goals.

For now, we'll keep pulling on the waterproofs, emptying wellies, cuddling muddy ponies and hoping for a few days of sunshine. 🌀️❀️

Thank you to everyone who supports us through the good weather and the bad. We truly couldn't do this without you. πŸ’œπŸ΄πŸ’œ

πŸ΄πŸ“š Equi-Learning Course Spotlight: History, Horses & Communication 🎨

One of the many topics we explore during our 6-Week ASDAN Accredited Equi-Learning Course is the fascinating history of horses and the important role they have played throughout human history.

During this session, participants discover how horses and ponies were once essential partners in everyday life. Before tractors, cars and modern machinery, horses worked alongside people, pulling carriages, transporting goods, helping on farms, towing agricultural equipment and connecting communities across the country.

Learning about these historical roles helps participants understand the incredible strength, intelligence and versatility of horses, while also encouraging discussions about how society has changed over time.

To bring this learning to life, participants take part in practical long-lining activities with our ponies. Long-lining allows us to experience some of the skills that would have been needed when driving horses to pull carts, carriages and farm equipment. It develops communication, teamwork, focus and problem-solving while strengthening the partnership between human and horse.

We also explore how horses have been important to cultures around the world. One particularly fascinating discussion centres on Native American tribes, some of whom painted symbols and markings on their horses to share messages, tell stories, identify achievements and communicate information to others.

Our learners loved the idea that horses were carrying messages long before mobile phones and social media existed. We joked that this was perhaps the world's first version of Facebook β€” sharing information, stories and identity through symbols displayed on their horses for others to see! πŸ΄πŸ’¬

By combining history, culture, practical horsemanship and hands-on learning, our Equi-Learning Course helps participants build confidence, communication skills, emotional awareness and a deeper understanding of the remarkable relationship between humans and horses.

Learning isn't always about sitting in a classroom. Sometimes the best lessons happen outdoors, alongside a pony, discovering the stories of the past while developing skills for the future. πŸ’œπŸ΄πŸ’œ

We did it! πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸ†

After being finalists last year, it was incredible to go a step further and win the "Outstanding Social Enterprise" category at last night's awards event.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible; it truly means so much to us. 🫢

It was a fantastic night again so well done to Jamie and the whole team at DG Chamber for organising. πŸ‘πŸ‘

A special thank you also goes to Steven Ritchie and his colleagues at Tarff Valley for welcoming us to their table and sharing their hospitality.

As the wine and whisky flowed, I’m sure they’ll remember the exciting sponsorship deal we discussed!! 😜🀣
