After leaving a missionary term in Nepal during 2001 and 2002 I have yearned to go back to the field but for many reasons, all very valid and proper, I did not explore possibilities. However, during my quiet time in April 2013 God spoke clearly to me telling me I needed to knock on doors and the right one would open. Joanne and I talked about this and prayed the Lord would lead us. After some init
ial discussions we applied to work with SIM and they accepted me to work as an Associate. I am using my videography skills to serve the mission field. I produce video content for projects to tell their stories and what God is doing in this multimedia driven world. I will take a project/country at a time and plan, shoot and edit video for use to publicise the ongoing work, raise awareness and support for this. There is a huge need for video work on the mission field. Also.. While on mission I will offer my technical skills to help the missionaries and projects where I can. In general I am happy to get my hands dirty, stand in a trench and dig holes as long as Christ is honoured and the gospel is advanced! I intend on being based in Northern Ireland and doing several short term trips to shoot the video footage required, return home and edit it. While at home I will continue to be self-employed installing AV and sound equipment and use the profits to pay for our living expenses and cover the cost of equipment. I will need help with the cost of the trips and this will be managed through SIM. If you feel you could help with this I would appreciate this greatly but most importantly I want your prayer!
