Channel Swim 2016

Down on the beach today in Dover. Had a photo with some of this weeks other successful channel swimmers. Two others swimming the same day and people from all over the world. Nice to put some faces to boats you only see on the horizon on the day and share our experiences.

Thanks for all the messages yesterday. I did get many through out the day. They made me smile. What an amazing experience. Managed to finish in 11hr 42min. Great support from my team on the the boat. Andy Wilson, Nigel Ezard and David Webster thanks a million. I couldn't have done this without you. Now for a rest!

We have entered inshore waters now, think we are ahead of the others.

Push on now to get up tide of landing area which hopefully will make the last part of the swim easier!! Still a couple of hours to go though.

I could be swimming tomorrow or Thursday. I will find out later today. Either way we will be starting the swim around 2.40 am from the beach. You will be able to track using the link below.

If you click this link today there are a few swimmers out in the Channel already. Just click on the name of the boat and then view track and you can then see where the boat is (and the swimmer hopefully) at any given point of time.

My support boat is called Connemara.

So now we arrive in Dover! A windy day! Weather is looking good from mid week....fingers crossed! I'm off for a dip... to test my senses snd see how soft I have got since swimming here 4 weeks ago!

Packing tonight for my swim next week. I think I have it covered now! Feels a bit like waiting for a baby to arrive. You just need all this stuff. ....and in duplicate and triplicate....The journey starts tomorrow night....heading to France first then Dover Sunday.....
