Living with cystic fibrosis means facing the possibility that, one day, we may need a double lung transplant — or even other organ transplants — to survive. That’s why we fully support the government’s decision to move to an opt-out organ donation system from 1 January 2026.

We encourage you to have an open conversation with your loved ones about organ donation and make sure they know your wishes. Even under an opt-out system, your family will still have the final say, so letting them know now can make all the difference when the time comes.

Organ donation in the Isle of Man will change to an opt-out system on 1 January 2026.

This means:
✅ You’re considered a donor unless you opt out
✅ Your family will always be consulted
✅ You can still register your decision at any time
