There are three days to go before the 'Walk for Walton' fundraiser challenge comes to an end, and one Isle of Man resident is trying to raise as much money as she can in the time.

The challenge requires people to complete 100,000 steps in the month of May.

While we can’t quite believe we’re almost half of the way through 2026, the realisation that over 5400 people* could have already heard the words “you have a brain tumour” this year is shocking.⁣
⁣
Brain tumours don’t discriminate and can strike anyone at any time. This is a devastating disease, yet, survival rates have improved little in 40 years compared to other cancers. Investment in research remains low, and diagnosis still takes far too long. This has to change!.⁣
⁣⁣
We understand that when you or a loved one is diagnosed with a brain tumour, better treatments and care can’t wait. That’s why we’re going further, faster to cure brain tumours sooner.⁣⁣

Evolving treatments 💜

Radiation for brain tumors is evolving.

Traditional treatments often require a delay after surgery, time that matters when dealing with aggressive cancers like glioblastoma.

Newer approaches, like GammaTile, are changing that by being implanted during surgery and delivering targeted radiation immediately after at the site where the tumor was removed.

It’s one example of how innovation is helping move treatment forward.
