Thank you Chalke History Festival 2026.

Just a quick post to say it was wonderful to be there and meet so many people with a passion for history! Great to see Living History friends again.

Our have a go Viking crafts tent was very popular including packed storytelling at 10am on Saturday morning.

We'll be in touch very soon with how you can get tickets for our family events at Rockbourne Roman Villa, and much more!

A most massive thank you to our tireless volunteers, without which we couldn't have offered such a rich and varied experience.

Chalke History Festival 2026 See you there!

Castle Hill Heritage Skills CIC are between the Romans and the Longship - you can't miss us! We're offering FREE hands-on historical activities, some of which you can take away with you.

Buy tickets for our family workshops throughout August at local venues and our heritage craft workshops through the Ticket Tailor box office.

Throughout the week we'll have talks:

Wednesday 24th June
10:00-10:30 – Viking Arms & Armour
17:00-17:30 – Dress, Dyeing & Colours from the Viking Age

Thursday 25th June
16:00-16:30 – Viking Arms & Armour

Friday 26th June
13:30-14:00 – Viking Storytelling
16:30-17:00 - Dress, Dyeing & Colours from the Viking Age

Saturday 27th June
10:00-11:00 – Viking Storytelling family friendly

What a fantastic Heritage Textiles Weekend at the Ancient Technology Centre in Dorset.
Thank you to everyone who came and created our textile community, and to those who returned from previous years. It was wonderful to share your costumes, knowledge and experience, and the crafts you love doing at home. Thank you for creating a space to breathe, craft and be merry with friends.

Next year - T-shirts?

Thank you as well to our expert tutors, delivering their historical knowledge along with the nuances of each craft.

And of course our ever-patient behind the scenes helpers, thank you for your tireless efforts.
