The Friends of the Doncaster Museums Welcome to the official FB page for The Friends of the Doncaster Museums! We support Doncaster's Museums, Art Gallery & The City of Doncaster Archives.

Registered charity no: 1189117 The Friends of the Doncaster Museums is a charitable organisation supporting Doncaster’s museums, art gallery and archives. We raise funds to acquire and preserve objects for these institutions, helping to build on their important work. Our group organises educational activities, and events for its members, to stimulate interest in the arts, history and heritage within Doncaster and surrounding area.

A busy day at DGLAM, attending a talk 'The River Don, Landscape and History', by Ian Rotherham, followed by curated talk by John McDowall and Chris Taylor about the exhibition 'Enfolded Journeys'. A very interesting day indeed. The exhibition is on until 18th and if you visit please pick up an handle the books.

It was an honour & privilege to represent The Friends of the Doncaster Museums at the unveiling of ‘Cath: A Woman’s Place is on the Picket Line’ by Hannah Starkey. I had the pleasure to chat with Hannah & those responsible for the commissioning of this significant addition to Doncaster's collection. Well done to everyone involved. I recommend taking time to view this work.
