September is Recovery Month in the UK. 💜

I started the Recovery Hub for one simple reason — to help another human being.

I pay for it and maintain it out of my own pocket. It is completely free to use, completely free to advertise on, and always will be about helping people find the support they need.

For me, this is part of living my Just for Today card — a card that helped me get clean and sober, and one I will never stop working.

I will be forever grateful to the 12 Step programme. It didn’t just help me stop drinking and using. It taught me how to live differently, how to help others, and how to become a better human being.

Recovery gave me my life back.

The least I can do is spend that life helping somebody else find theirs. ❤️‍🔥

Tonight, me and Alex were out serving pie & mash and strawberry cheesecake to people experiencing homelessness. ❤️

But it was about so much more than food.

We met some lovely people, had some really honest conversations, shared a few laughs and just spent time listening. Some genuinely beautiful people with real stories behind them.

A huge thank you to everyone who has liked, shared, commented and sent words of hope, love and support. It means more than you probably realise. ❤️‍🔥

In January, in one of the coldest months of the year, Phoenix is going homeless for 48 hours.

We’ve decided to try and see the world through their eyes as much as we possibly can.

From Friday night to Sunday morning, we’ll start with £0. No bank cards. No Apple Pay. No bought food or drink. No warm bed. We’ll sleep outside, rely on human kindness, ask for help, have real conversations and document the whole experience.

We’re under no illusion that 48 hours can truly show us what it means to be homeless. We know that when Sunday morning comes, we get to go home.

For thousands of people, there is no finish line.

That’s exactly why we’re doing it.

We want to raise awareness, start conversations and raise support for the Fresh Start Community Hub, helping people affected by homelessness, addiction, prison release and those simply trying to rebuild their lives.

48 HOURS WITH NOTHING.

Cold. Hungry. Uncomfortable. Together.

Because sometimes, to understand the people you’re trying to help, you have to be willing to step outside your own comfort.

I’m out here shining a light, so those who feel lost can find their way.

Helping others is at the very heart of my own recovery. After more than three years clean and sober, it’s something I’m incredibly grateful to be able to do—and something I truly love.

But I can’t do it alone.

The Fresh Start Community Hub will give people facing addiction, homelessness and hardship somewhere to turn—a place offering practical support, genuine connection and the chance of a new beginning.

Please help me help someone else. Donate if you can. Share this video if you can’t. Either one could help us reach somebody who desperately needs to know that people still care.

They are not invisible. They are not beyond help. They should never be forgotten.

I’ve not been missing… I’ve been working on something big. ❤️‍🔥

And here it is.

Over the last few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening, learning and seeing first-hand just how many people in our community are struggling.

People sleeping rough.
People leaving prison with nothing.
People trying to escape addiction.
People entering recovery with little more than the clothes they’re wearing.

And one thing has become very clear to me:

Sometimes before you can help somebody rebuild their life, you have to help them get through today.

That’s why we’ve been working behind the scenes to create the Fresh Start Community Hub — a partnership between Phoenix Recovery Hub and Reflections Yorkshire CIC.

A place built around practical help, human connection and lived experience.

Clothing. Food. Toiletries. Support. Recovery. A brew. A conversation. And most importantly, somewhere people can walk through the door and be treated like a person — not a problem.

Today, I’m asking for your help.

We’ve launched our Hope in Action Crowdfunder with a target of £5,000.

And we’ve been given an incredible opportunity…

That means your support has the potential to go even further.

£10 can become £20.
£25 can become £50.
£50 can become £100.

This isn’t about building something that looks good on Facebook.

It’s about food on a plate.

A little dignity when somebody has lost almost everything.

But I’ve seen what happens when this community gets behind people.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been working on something BIG.

I’m proud to announce that Phoenix Recovery Hub and Reflections Yorkshire CIC are joining forces to bring the Fresh Start Community Hub to Doncaster.

A place offering practical essentials, hot meals, budgeting support, recovery and wellbeing groups, peer support, volunteering opportunities and — most importantly — connection without judgement.

Sometimes people just need that first bit of support to start rebuilding.

Practical support. Positive connections. New beginnings.

Tonight was about celebrating progress. ❤️🔥

We had the absolute privilege of presenting Chris and Lisa with their Phoenix Recovery – Stage 1: “I Showed Up” certificates.

Recovery isn’t about being perfect. It’s about having the courage to keep walking through the door, even on the days when it’s hard.

These certificates aren’t awarded for having all the answers. They’re awarded for showing willingness, taking part, opening up, and making that first positive step towards a different life.

Chris and Lisa… we’re proud of you both. Keep showing up, keep believing in yourselves, and keep moving forward one day at a time.

Every journey starts with a single step, and tonight we celebrated two people who had the courage to take theirs.

Recognising courage, effort and progress — not perfection.
