Looking for new friends in Diss? 👋

Whenever someone asks “How do I make friends in Diss?”, the same suggestions come up:

We’re just ONE WEEK AWAY from our 9/11 Survivor Talk with Janice Brooks – a moving and inspiring evening marking the 25th Anniversary of 9/11.

This is a unique opportunity to hear Janice’s personal story of survival, resilience and hope, while helping to raise funds for two fantastic children’s charities.

🔫🔫🔫CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING🔫🔫🔫

Last Thursday, the Diss Tablers plus 1 from the King's Lynn and District Round Table 54 put their accuracy to the test with a bit of Clay Pigeon Shooting. Many of the members before they started say they would be happy if they only got 1 hit, the same members shocked themselves by hitting a lot more than they thought and by the end of the session, some of them were hitting 2 targets at the same time!!!!! Many thanks to the Wymondham and District Gun Club for their amazing hospitality and a brilliant night overall

🐘🐘🐘NEW MEMBER INDUCTION🐘🐘🐘

As part of a new members procedure to join the round table, the new member has to be inducted by pledging an oath to adopt, adapt and improve while also doing something that would amuse the rest of the members and something embarrassing for the new member. Last night, For Daniel’s case, we blindfolded him and made him wear an Ipswich Town shirt as he is a Norwich fan (So we thought). Turns out that he stopped supporting Norwich 3 years ago to turn to Non League instead and that he had a massive shirt collection which didn’t have an Ipswich shirt 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. Ironically Daniel was incredibly grateful in receiving the shirt and wore it for the rest of the night. While the ‘embarrassment’ backfired onto us, we’re very happy that Daniel enjoyed the shirt and the extra Round Pins that came with the shirt. Daniel has been a massive part of the media for our group since joining in April and has always tried to Adopt, Adapt and Improve within the group and outside of the group. (Yes I am writing about myself in 3rd person here 😂)

🇺🇸 9/11 SURVIVOR TALK – JANICE BROOKS🇺🇸

Diss Round Table is proud to be hosting a special talk with 9/11 survivor Janice Brooks, who will be sharing her story and experiences from that day.

The evening is open to everyone, so please feel free to bring partners, children, friends and family. There will also be a bar available throughout the evening.

❤️ Proceeds from the event will be split between the Great Ormond Street Hospital Play Team and the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital Play Team.

Spaces are limited to just 80 people, so if you’d like to come along, please let Diss RT know and we’ll get your name down.
