šŸŒ™ Eid Mubarak from Making Sparks! šŸ•‹

As families around the world celebrate Eid al-Adha, millions of pilgrims are completing one of the most remarkable journeys in Islam – Hajj.

Today marks Day 3 of Hajj, the day of Eid, when pilgrims perform the stoning of the Jamarat, offer Qurbani, and complete key rites of their pilgrimage.

To help families learn more, we’ve shared a simple guide to the five days of Hajj. Whether you’ve performed Hajj, hope to one day, or simply want to understand its significance, we hope it inspires you to learn more about this incredible journey of faith, sacrifice and devotion.

May Allah (SWT) accept the Hajj of all pilgrims, forgive our shortcomings, and fill our homes with peace, happiness and barakah.

Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones. šŸ¤

What an unforgettable weekend in Cumbria! šŸŒæšŸ„

We were incredibly lucky to be invited by to visit , where the wonderful Gemma gave us a fascinating behind the scenes tour of her beautiful farm. From learning all about dairy cows and the milking process to making our own ice cream, the day was packed with hands-on fun and fascinating farming science.

Of course, no trip would be complete without a cheeky KitKat or two especially after discovering where Gemma’s milk ends up!
We also stayed at , where we were welcomed with such warmth, comfort and outstanding hospitality. The site itself was fantastic, with so much to explore and enjoy nearby.

To top it all off, Malcolm guided us on a breathtaking scenic hike through the area, where we discovered the River Eden, historic railway routes, and learned about the region’s rich mining history of iron ore, coal and limestone. His knowledge and passion for the area made the experience even more special.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for such an action-packed, wholesome and memorable weekend we loved every minute of it! šŸ’š

From strangers… to the First LEGO League Finals✨

6 months ago, Team SPARKiiZ didn’t exist.
Today, they stood on a national stage in Harrogate, competing with 60+ teams from across the UK šŸŒ

Built through collaboration between Riyaz (Making Sparks) and Emma (Izwiz Robotics), this journey was powered by weekends, school holidays, after school sessions—and a lot of determination ā¤ļø

They learned robotics, coding, problem solving… but most importantly, how to become a team.

No overall win this time, but something bigger was gained: confidence, resilience, and belief.

Huge congratulations to Emma & Riyaz for winning Best Coaches šŸ†šŸ‘

And a massive thank you to all organisers, volunteers, and the team for making this experience possible for young people across the UK.

20+ kids, non stop energy, and plenty of smiles!

Our first Healthy Holidays session at the Dewsbury Pop up Arcade was a blast, supported by the Kirklees Schools Out programme.

Between the obstacle courses and archery, we even found time to make stress balls and refuel with healthy snacks and delicious wraps.

Missed out? Don’t worry - We are back at it on Tuesday 7th April!

Link below or in the bio to book on to the next one.

Last month, Making Sparks turned ONE! šŸŽ‰ What an incredible journey it’s been!

Our community keeps growing, and so does our amazing team of volunteers. We’re especially proud of our young leaders, who are now leading and planning workshops themselves!✨

We celebrated with lots of goodies… and of course, cake! šŸŽ‚ (We know many of you are fasting for Ramadan, so apologies for the timing of this post!)

What’s next for us this year? Keep watching this space, more fantastic sessions and exciting plans are on the way!

A huge THANK YOU to our community, volunteers, young leaders, supporters, and partners. This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without YOU! ā¤ļø

We’re really proud to share that Making Sparks has been nominated for the STEAM Impact Awards 2026

These awards celebrate real, meaningful impact for young people and families, and it means a lot to have our community led, hands on approach to STEAM recognised.

Over the past year, we’ve loved delivering sessions and community events, whether through robotics, science workshops, enterprise challenges, or family learning events right in the heart of Dewsbury.

Thank you to Carrie Ann Booth of and Hannah Hagon of for creating something that truly celebrates the people doing the work day in, day out, and for shining a light on inclusive STEAM education.

Grateful for every child, family, volunteer, and partner who has been part of the journey so far — this one’s for you
