Derry to Inishowen Greenway?

Derry to Inishowen Greenway? Created in 2014, we want to build a cycling/walking route around Inishowen, start/finish DERRY.

We have an idea to construct a 97-km greenway around Inishowen, but starting and finishing in Derry city. This amenity would be there for all the community - including the almost 11,000 schoolchildren that take the bus or car to school - and would help bring Donegal and Derry closer together. It would also encourage people to enjoy the environment that life and work in, and see something that's mi

ssed if travelling by car. And who knows, perhaps a few extra tourists would come and visit to appreciate our beautiful countryside. This will only see the light of day if YOU support it and encourage your family and friends to support it today.

Well, look at the M**f-Threes section of the . I appreciate that trees and shrubs were removed to construct this cycling and walking route, but long-term this will have a massive impact on traffic volumes in and around the M**f area, particularly with those travelling to and from CLG Naomh Padraig Uisce Chaoin. We undestand that a planting plan is being considered for sections of the route. But this is a fantastic amenity for the area, with wonderful views of Lough Foyle. Now onwards to Moville with the ORANGE route option! Kudos to Donegal County Council.

We've had to repost this again because our use of the map previously constituted a breach of Facebook's guidelines. Work that one out. Anyway, please make a submission and select the ORANGE route. It links all the major urban areas (Redcastle, Moville, Greencastle and Gleneely) and will offer a safe, active travel corridor for 1000s of children to cycle to and from school. Go to https://threetreescarndonaghgreenway.ie/public-consultation-2/ and click on the 'submit feedback' button and complete the question. The ORANGE route is our project's preference, so let's make it the Council's preference too. Highland Radio Highland Radio: News, Sport & Obituaries Moville/Greencastle Area help and support

We were in attendance on Thursday at the public consultation for the Buncrana-Carndonagh section of the Inishowen Greenway. It has been a long time coming, but we are now seeing our vision fast becoming a reality. People should support the preferred corridor by completing the questionnaire which can be found at https://buncranacarndonaghgreenway.ie/public-consultation-3/. (Just select 'submit feedback'.) Delighted that part of our greenway project - which we secured support for from Derry City & Strabane District Council and Donegal County Council in 2015 - has won a construction award: https://www.derrynow.com/news/local-news/1623892/derry-construction-projects-shine-at-annual-cef-awards.html. Now let's deliver the remaining sections to make this one of Ireland's top greenways connecting Inishowen towns to Derry City. Remember, this greenway is primarily for commuting. Tourism is a wee bonus.

From the The Guardian newspaper earlier this year. Apply the business model to this and then replicate across Irish cities and towns. We require radical change now, not in 2030.
