Autistic trans and gender diverse people appear to be at particularly high risk of experiencing eating disorders and disordered eating. But their experiences are often overlooked in research and practice.

Join us for a free, NHS-funded online “In conversation” webinar exploring eating disorders in autistic trans and gender diverse populations.

Our speaker, Dr Kai Thomas, will discuss emerging research on autism, gender diversity and eating disorders, including why eating difficulties may arise, how they can present, and what more inclusive and effective care can look like.

Dr Kai Thomas (he/him) is a Health and Care Research Wales Advanced Fellow based at Cardiff University. Through co-produced research, he aims to improve understanding of how eating disorders are experienced and recognised in these underserved groups, and to inform more accessible, affirming, and effective support for eating disorders across marginalised populations.
