The first junior chess tournament of the year for under 11s and under 18s. It will be held in the TT Hut at Rolls Royce on Saturday 8 November starting at 12.30pm If you want to have a go for the county team this is the place to start. Also there will hopefully be a beginners section. Alan

Well done to everyone who played yesterday! We performed exceptionally well, considering that, on average, we were outgraded by 300 points, and this was the first Derbyshire County Under-11 chess team since 2005.
Particularly impressive results were achieved by Nishkal (1.5), Ethan (2), Tarini (2), and Thomas (2) (all scores out of 3), but every player exceeded my expectations.
