Today is , the UK's biggest campaign on air pollution. Can you take a moment to do something about air pollution, wherever you live?

Here are three things you can do for cleaner air today:
💚 Leave the car at home if you can,
💚 Skip the wood burner or bonfire,
💚 Send a quick email to your local councillor about air pollution.

Every child deserves clean air on the school run.

That's why we're supporting Better Transport Week, which this year is celebrating how better transport connects people and places.

For families, better transport means more than simply getting from A to B. Reliable public transport and safe routes for walking and cycling can help reduce air pollution, improve children's health, and create stronger, healthier communities.

Parents across our network are working to make that happen in their local areas every day.

Find out more about Better Transport Week and the events taking place this week at Campaign for Better Transport.

It's a week until Clean Air Day, and we'd love your help!

New councillors have just been elected across the country, and it's the perfect moment to get clean air on their radar. We're asking everyone to email their local councillors ahead of Clean Air Day, to share information about air pollution and invite them to take action.

We've made it as easy as possible. We've pre-drafted the email and written a briefing on air pollution that you can send along with it. All you need to do is add your councillors' email addresses and send.

Every email is another person's voice being heard. Head to the link below to get everything you need, and thank you! 💚

Australia is grappling with exactly the same problems we are: emissions from wood burning and diesel vehicles, and an air quality rating system that describes polluted air as "good."

Sound familiar? Here in the UK, our legal air pollution limits are far weaker than World Health Organization guidelines, which means the air can look fine on paper while still damaging our children's health.

This is why we campaign. Have a read, it's a fascinating piece.👇

A new study has found a clear link between air pollution exposure and the risk of ending up in hospital. It's a battle Julia Ovens knows only too well.

It's 10 days till , the UK's largest air pollution campaign.

Find out more about the campaign at the link - including an easy way to contact your councillor about being a clean air champion 😍 .

If you've ever wondered what the air on your street is actually doing to your family's health, we're here to help you find out.

On 16th June we're hosting a free introductory webinar on air pollution. Using Southwark as our starting point we'll explore what air pollution is, where it comes from, and what we can all do about it.

We'll hear from Dr Chinthika Piyasena, consultant neonatologist at Evelina London Children's Hospital and passionate advocate for children's clean air, on the health impacts of air pollution on children. There'll also be practical tips on reducing your own exposure and a Q&A at the end.

Free, online, and we'd love to see you there! 16th June, 8:15pm. Register below. 👇

New research confirms what we've been shouting about for years.

Air pollution affects children's health - slowing lung growth in childhood, with the greatest impact during adolescence, when lung growth accelerates.

The good news? This is reversible - studies from Sweden showed lung growth increased when air pollution was reduced.

Reducing children's exposure and protecting children's environments is crucial for their future health.

Share this with every parent you know!

Researchers find breathing more air pollution can slow lung development all the way up to early adulthood

Yesterday, our brilliant Birmingham volunteers ran a clean air workshop for parents at St Laurence Church Infant School, alongside our partners at the Birmingham Healthy Air Coalition and Better Streets for Birmingham.

It was a fantastic session, with positive discussions about air pollution and children’s health, and it was wonderful to see the children engaging with the topic. Maya, Florence and Kirsten shared information about the impacts of air pollution on health, including asthma and other conditions, and practical steps people can take to reduce exposure and support cleaner air in their communities.

A huge thank you to headteacher Catherine Smith for the warm welcome and for creating the space for these conversations to happen.

This is what people-powered campaigning looks like. 💚

Want to know how to talk to your new councillor about air pollution, climate and nature? Come to next Monday's webinar!

Local elections have brought a wave of new councillors into office across the UK. It's the perfect moment to make contact, but knowing what to say and how to say it isn't always straightforward.

Next Monday, 8th June at 8pm, together with Hope for the Future, we're hosting a free online session on engaging with councillors about climate and nature as part of the "A Future for All" project.

The session will explore why it's important to engage, top tips in engaging with your councillor, and what to do if you disagree with them!

Practical, friendly, and free to attend.

Just a reminder that our Kids for Clean Air art competition closes on Friday, 5th June!

If you've got a creative kid in Lambeth or Southwark who'd love to see their artwork on a lamp post banner in South London - and be in with a chance of winning a Micro Scooters UK scooter or a free School of Skate session in Peckham - there's still time to enter.
