Emma braved the heat on Wednesday to attend a Health and Wellbeing event being run at Oakwood Community Centre. A very interesting afternoon meeting other volunteer groups, creating plenty of networking opportunities and, as usual, we helped answer questions from those with hearing loss and their families.

For mental health awareness week, we are highlighting the importance of opening up and talking to someone if you are struggling with your tinnitus.

Tinnitus can have a severe impact on someone's life, as tinnitus affects 1 in 7 adults in the UK, with severe impact on 1 in 6 of those living with the condition.

You shouldn't have to isolate yourself because of your tinnitus, that's why there are support options available, including our helpline, webchat and information on our website. There are also support groups around the UK to allow you to share your story with others and make living with tinnitus more manageable. You can find your nearest support group or join one online by visiting our website (link in comments)

If you are struggling to manage your tinnitus, please call our helpline: 0800 018 0527
