🚶‍♀️🌿 WELLBEING WALK RETURNS – SATURDAY 11TH JULY 🌿🚶‍♂️

Following the success of our recent wellbeing walk, we’re delighted to announce that we’re doing it all again.

What started as a simple idea to bring people together through movement, nature and meaningful connection became a truly special day. We welcomed individuals and families from across the community, shared conversations, supported wellbeing and created new connections along the way.

On Saturday 11th July, we’ll be heading to Smalley for a 10K wellbeing walk, followed by music and light refreshments.

At The Manasi Foundation, we believe wellbeing should be accessible, inclusive and community-led. Events like these remind us that sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is create space for people to connect, move and feel part of something positive.

Meet Sarfraz Yousaf 🥊 As part of our Sport England funded programme Men on Mats, we’re sharing one man’s story each month - stories that are featured in our Men’s Collective magazine.

Saf is a martial arts gym owner, MMA coach and a respected figure within the Derby community. Through his work, he has helped countless people build confidence, discipline and resilience both inside and outside of the gym.

When reflecting on the importance of movement for wellbeing, Saf shared: “Keeping yourself active is just going to keep your body in the right balance of how it should be, which then keeps your mind positive.”

For Saf, movement is about consistency. It’s about looking after your physical health, creating routine and maintaining a positive mindset through life’s challenges.

Movement isn’t just physical. For many men, it’s how they manage stress, build confidence and stay connected to themselves and those around them.

Men on Mats exists to create space to move without pressure, without judgement and without expectation.

Follow along as we continue to share these stories, and join us at our next session.

MANASI CELEBRATION EVENING 🎥:

Still taking it all in🩵

A room full of people from different walks of life, different cities, different journeys… all brought together by community.

This evening was a celebration of movement, mentorship, wellbeing and the people who have shaped this journey so far.

We launched Manasi – The Men’s Collective, listened to honest conversations, shared stories and created space for people to simply be seen, heard and inspired.

Watching everyone connect in that room reminded us exactly why we do this.

Thank you for being part of our journey so far🩵

Meet Daniel Henry 🎧 As part of our funded programme Men on Mats, we’re sharing one man’s story each month stories that will also feature in our Men’s Collective magazine.

Daniel is a DJ, business owner and founder of Unit03Music as well as a mentor to young people and co-director of The Manasi Foundation. He plays a key role in shaping the spaces we create, both creatively and within the community.

When reflecting on Men on Mats, Daniel shared:
“They’re giving things a go, even if it’s new to them. You can see people building connections, chatting more, and supporting each other.”

For Daniel, movement is about more than just physical activity. It’s about creating environments where people feel comfortable to step outside their comfort zones, connect with others, and grow together.

Movement isn’t just physical. For many men, it’s how they process, release and reconnect.

Men on Mats exists to create space to move without pressure, without judgement and without expectation.
