Ticknall22 WI 2026 Games night. Firstly, the solar eclipse with very safe safety glasses. (We were ready for take-off.) Then, an outside Treasure Hunt. It not only included brain teasing questions such as an anagram;- DLISANU? Answer: Sundial- to be found on the side of our local St George’s Church). Easy sort of peasy. But then, the physical stuff. Imagine agile young at heart members having a very good time on the kids climbing frame on our local cricket pitch. (Sssshhh. Eat your hearts out kids and grandkids.)
Finally, delicious food and a massive chat with everyone. What an evening.🌞🌙🌑
Thank you organisers.⭐️

We’re a small village WI and we have so many creative, imaginative and talented members who work so hard to demonstrate our skills in a competitive environment.
We also support each other.
These two synergies came together during the Ashby Show, held weekend of 12th of July this year.
As ever, the photos say it all.

What a fascinating meeting with Craig Turner and his bees. We learnt so much about these industrious and intelligent little creatures especially about how they communicate with each other. We also found out about the risks posed by the appearance of Asian hornets to our bee population, and what to do if we see one of these hornets.
Thank you Craig and for the delicious honey.🍯🐝🍯

Elonor Tivey, the Peony Farmer, gave Ticknall22 members and friends a very informative talk about herself and her journey to becoming a peony farmer. Elonor’s talk included many useful tips and detailed information about how to successfully grow these beautiful flowers. We were also able to buy some of her prize winning peonies at the end of the evening. Thank you Elonor🌺

One of our committee members who does not want be named, but who is called Alison, created this beautiful poster advertising our next event.
