It's been a while since our last post so we thought an update was long overdue. No, we haven't gone anywhere. We're still meeting regularly and looking at ways to secure the future of our village's historic Sun Inn.
Some of you may have seen or heard that the Sun is back on the open market. This time the price has dropped towards £285,000.
That's good news because it's a reduction from last year’s price tag of £350,000 and the previous year’s whopping £525,000.
The latest asking price is very close to the original offer we made in 2024, based on a professional survey comparing it to similar commercial properties in the region. This was rejected by the owners as being too low.
Since then our initial business plan had to be torn up following the withdrawal of Government funding for community projects.
However, we are still talking to the owners in a bid to come to an agreement and we feel progress is being made. So, watch this space.
