⛳ DGU Spring Meeting Results

The Spring Meeting took place at Denbigh GC on Sunday, bringing together players for a competitive and enjoyable day of golf. With the course in great condition and a welcoming atmosphere throughout, the event proved to be a real success for all involved.

A big thank you to Denbigh Golf Club for hosting, and especially to Don Walmsley for his excellent organisation and for running the event so smoothly on the day and supported by the Club Captain. 👏

The Union was at ‘Full Strength’ today when Captain Pete, Vice Captain Andy and President Jonathan attended the Captains Drive-In at The Vale of Llangollen Golf Club

It was a special event at the club as it saw both its new Captain, Emyr Wyn Jones and its new President John S O Jones take office at the same time.

Sadly (but correctly) the usual competition had to be cancelled due to the snow covering the course and the frigid weather conditions.

However that did not stop over 100 members attending to witness the normal procedure and all were subsequently rewarded and warmed by enjoying a complimentary bowl of stew in the clubhouse.

We wish both Emyr Wyn and John a memorable and successful year.

Inter-Club League 2025

All matches have now been played and a very close-run competition it was in Division 1. All clubs finished with identical points and the placings were decided on the number of individual games won.

We can therefore announce the results as follows:

DIVISION 1:
Champions – Denbigh

Relegated to Division 2 – Old Colwyn & Llangollen.

DIVISION 2:
Champions – Ruthin-Pwllglas

Runner-up and promoted to Division 1 – Moss Valley

The 'League Cup' trophies will be presented to Denbigh & Ruthin-Pwllglas at the forthcoming AGM.

We are delighted to announce the launch of our NEW WEBSITE

Whilst there are some 'tweaks' still to be achieved, it opens a new phase in our operation and management of annual competitions.

By early 2026 we intend to offer you an ON-LINE BOOKING & PAYMENT facility for all of our one day events.

No more bits of printed paper on noticeboards. No more scribbling out of names or forgetting to add handicaps etc. Better still, no more cash being handled by your office and then trying to balance the money against scribbled entry names.

However, for this to be successful, we need you to go to the website, then to the bottom of the opening page and 'click' the “Sign Up” button.

Then, when the competition becomes open for entries, we will email you.
You will be able to your tee time : your name : using card.

So, please get your names down and watch this space for ongoing updates.
