Debden Neighbourhood Plan

This is a map of all sites submitted to the NP Call For Sites in July 2025. Debden village centre and Debden Green areas have been enlarged independently.

The next stage will be to assess the sites against our LCA (Landscape Character Assessment), and the UDC emerging local plan policies.

The Call For Sites process invites land to be considered and will link in with the Parish Landscape Character and Conservation assessments (see website), which will help identify any potential areas for development. It then becomes our choice where to build.

Great News! We've been awarded a grant from the Locality Neighbourhood Planning Programme Team at Groundwork UK.
This will enable us conduct the first stage of a Conservation Area Assessment and a Landscape Character Assessment of the village, to support our Neighbourhood Plan.

The public consultation is now closed. Thank you to all who have responded to the questionnaire. We will now collate all the info and data to help us ascertain which policies we will need and to write our vision statement.

Debden Neighbourhood Plan Public Consultation
Thanks to all who have already emailed or posted their completed questionnaires.

Cllrs April Gardner and Stephanie Watson will be in the Plough Pub on Friday 31st Jauary from 7-9pm, If you fancy a chat or have any questions. We will have copies of the questionnaire if you would like to fill them in then. See you there.

Remember the deadline to get your forms in is Wed 12th February! You can post in the boxes at the Plough Pub, Debden Village Hall, Debden Post Office, Phone Box at Highfields or the Debden PC letterbox outside the shop. Or email: [email protected].

A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped us distribute the questionnaire to each household in the parish, leading up to the Initial Public Consultation on Saturday 11th January. There are just short of 400 households in the village!

The survey can be per person or per household, depending on your views and what you want to say. Extra copies are available from our website: debden-pc.gov.uk/the-council/neighbourhood-plan/ and extra copies are available in the Post office, Plough Pub and Village Hall, if you are visiting soon.

Another big thank you to all those who came along to Saturday's first public consultation, and to those that helped organise the event, especially Nicky Joshua from RCCE, who was there to talk to residents on the day. We are grateful for your time and support, and we had lots of post it notes stuck on the boards and maps with your comments, ideas and suggestions.

These will be recorded and collated along with the comments received on the questionnaires. We already have quite a few in the village hall post box.

You have until the deadline of February 12th 2025 to get your questionnaires submitted.

It's the launch of DEBDEN NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN which is the Initial Public Consultation, on Saturday 11th January, in Debden Village Hall.

Drop in for Tea, Coffee, biscuits and a chat between 11am and 4pm.

You can ask questions, have your say and meet some of those working on the Neighbourhood Plan. This will be an opportunity for residents to give their views, contribute to the overall vision and to begin a sense of community ownership of OUR plan.

You may have views or ideas on: The Environment, Green Spaces, Housing Provision, Infrastructure, Community Facilities, Heritage Assets, Small Businesses, and more

Residents Questionnaires can be completed on the day or handed in during the event. Extra copies will be available.
