Forest Community Energy Supporting a greener Forest of Dean with community solar installations and running energy saving information events. We are more than an energy society.

We are a community of people who believe that the future of energy should be clean, fair, and locally owned. As a Community Benefit Society, we bring neighbours, friends, and partners together to create renewable energy projects that put the people of the Forest of Dean, and the planet, first. Our mission is about more than generating power – it is about empowering our community. Every panel we in

stall and every project we launch helps cut carbon, tackle fuel poverty, and keep more of the benefits here, where they belong. We are owned and governed by our members, which means everyone has a voice. Decisions are made collectively, and the profits we generate are reinvested into local projects – from supporting families with energy costs to funding initiatives that strengthen our community. By working together, we are proving that renewable energy is not just possible – it’s powerful. It’s a way to take action on climate change, create resilience, and ensure that the benefits of the green transition are shared by all. We are a movement for a brighter, fairer, sustainable future – built by the community, for the community.

📢 Don't miss your chance to sign up for this brilliant day with WeSET, together with Dr Dom Davies, and the incredible Kremena Dimitrova!

Starting the day with a tour of Westmill wind and solar farms, the afternoon session includes a creative workshop at the National Trust Coleshill stables, looking at how communities can tell their own sustainability stories.

We held similar in-school sessions earlier this year, which were a big hit and produced some fantastic artwork!

We are running a special FREE evening event to explain the benefits of community-owned energy, how to identify potential projects, and look at the first steps to start things moving.

"Empowering our Councils" is an in-person event focused on sharing practical ideas for managing community assets cleanly and affordably in a time of change.

A brilliant day Forest Showcase Food Festival yesterday! So many great conversations, and lovely to be with other local community groups! We signed-up new members, and talked about everything energy related you can think of (plus some surprising topics too).

Lovely ice-creams. date and ginger cake, coffees, and crepes!

PS Now seriously considering getting an inflatable red te****le 🙂
