Yesterday the youngest members of the team showed the adult ponies how it’s done!

🌙 Darshill Moondragon 🐉

Yearling filly teamed up with Liam Priestley and I showed two year old

🕵️ Darshill Agent Carter 🕵️

They were 1st and 2nd in a strong youngstock class at Royal Three Counties Show

Moondragon and Liam then stood breed champions!

One of my favourite mares Darshill Princess Charlotte aka Squeak pictured in colour. The black and white photo is from the January 1960 issue of Riding Magazine, the yearling filly on the left ‘Radish’ is her great great grandmother who later joined Herd 14 in Cumbria.

The pony on the right is a yearling filly called Redwing who would be purchased by the late Pat McElligott as one of her foundation mares for Herd 9, with the Frithesden prefix, she went on to become one of the most prolific mares in the breed.

She is the grandmother of one of my foundation mares the beautiful Frithesden Singing Grass, her two year old great granddaughter Darshill Agent Carter is pictured below, she’s come in off the hill this week ready to try her hand at some showing!

On Friday we welcomed another new arrival to the herd, it’s our last foal by stallion Lovstakken, who has sired eight foals for us over the last three seasons, seven of which have been fillies!
