Tonight at Cubs we welcomed a new member who has moved up from Beavers – great to have you with us!

This week’s session was all about science and teamwork. The Cubs inflated balloons without using air, built towers from marshmallows, matchsticks and spaghetti, and learned how to use a compass to find north.

Well done to the Yellow Team 💛 and Blue Team 💙 for winning the tower challenges. We finished the evening with the classic Coke and Mentos experiment, which was definitely a highlight of the night! Lots of teamwork, learning and fun throughout the session – well done everyone 🐺

Our Cubs had their very first sleepover—and what a brilliant night it was! 🏕️✨🐺

The evening was full of fun games, laughter, and teamwork before the Cubs set up their tents and settled in for their adventure. After some supper and a cosy bedtime story, they (eventually!) got some sleep.

There were lots of smiles (and a few tired faces!) in the morning as they packed everything away and enjoyed breakfast together before heading home.

We’re so proud of all our Cubs for their independence and resilience—what a fantastic first sleepover! 🌟

Another great night at Cubs 🌲

We headed to Rounall Woods for an outdoor session, starting with an adventure trail where the Cubs used their observation skills to find clues and locate our camp.

The focus of the evening was pioneering. The Cubs learned how to tie square and reef knots, showing great perseverance throughout. They then put their teamwork to the test with a tough tug of war, before moving on to building tripods and exploring hinge knots.

We finished the night with our famous Cub howl 🐺

What a special night for our Cubs! ⚽️🏆

A huge thank you to Dalbeattie Star FC for the amazing opportunity to attend the match tonight and step onto the pitch as the team were presented with the trophy for winning the South of Scotland Football League 🏆

The Cubs loved every minute—cheering, celebrating, and even getting a few high fives from the players 🖤❤️

To top it all off, we even spotted the Dalbeattie Fire Service heading back to the station on our way home 🚒

Tonight we invested our new Cubs and leaders ⚜️

We’re so proud of everyone for remembering their Promise – well done Cubs! 👏

Barhill Woods was the perfect setting for a great evening. We walked up proudly with our flag, followed clues through the woods to find camp, and with help from the Scouts, got the fire going. Each Cub was then invested and received their badges.

We finished off by enjoying some delicious s’mores before heading back down through the woods 🔥🍫
