Are you looking for things to do with your children this bank holiday?

Why not learn about carbon monoxide (CO)?

I am on the lookout for new CO safety assistants to help me on my quest to spread the word on the dangers of carbon monoxide.
I want to rid homes of the threat of carbon monoxide to keep you and your families safe.

Watch my cartoons to find out all about CO and how to stay safe. There are also a number of fun activities for you to do.

Are you ready to help me on my mission?

We’re currently one of three charities in the Tesco Stronger Starts blue token scheme at Romford and Hornchurch Tesco stores!

We’d love our supporters to vote for us and pop their blue token in our slot at any of the Superstores, Extras and Express stores in and around Romford and Hornchurch between now and 30th July – the more tokens we get, the more money we could get to spend on our Community Kitchen and benefit so many of our local supporters!

On March 2nd, Enabling Independence (formerly DABD)’s Centre for Warmth Officer, Lee Hadley, attended a local networking event in Marks Gate. Organised by Turn to Us, the meeting aimed to strengthen ties within a community that often feels isolated from the wider borough.
In addition to holding one-on-one meetings with representatives from Turn to Us, Youth Groups, local faith groups, and the community centre, Lee delivered a short presentation on our Cadent energy advice project. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the support we offer to borough residents while fostering vital local partnerships.

A refreshed look, built with intention.

Today, we are introducing the first elements of our refreshed brand identity.
Same mission. Stronger expression.

For over 70 years, we have supported people to live independently and access opportunities. Today, our visual identity evolves to reflect who we are now: clearer, more inclusive, and forward-focused.
A clearer expression of who we are and where we are going.
