Nibbles is here to help offer a safe haven to rodents and rabbits while they wait to find their special forever humans. All our rabbits are neutered and vaccinated prior to re-homing. All prospective adopters will be home-checked and Nibbles offers back up for life - this means if you can no longer keep a pet adopted from Nibbles you MUST return them to us.

🔨 Can anyone help with some much-needed roofing repairs? 🐰

We’re hoping there might be someone locally with carpentry experience who could help us with a job at the rescue.

We need to replace the roofing on four of our rabbit units. We had really hoped to have this work completed by now, along with a number of other repairs and maintenance jobs around the centre, but the repeated heatwaves this summer have made it simply impossible to get on with much of the work safely. As a result, we’re now very behind with everything we had planned.

We do have a small budget set aside for the roofing work, but as a small charity we need to make every penny stretch as far as possible. We’re therefore hoping we might be able to find someone with the right experience who would be willing to help us at a reduced rate.

If you have carpentry experience and think you might be able to help, please send us a message. Likewise, if you know someone locally who might be willing to take this on, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could tag them or share this post.

Getting these roofs replaced before the autumn weather arrives would be a huge help to us — and to the rabbits who rely on these units. 🐰❤️

Please share and help us find our roofing hero!

A huge thank you to everyone who has responded to our recent Amazon Wish List appeal! 💚

The bunnies have been very grateful to receive much-needed supper supplies and plenty of tasty treats. Every bag of food and every packet of treats helps us keep hungry tummies full and means we can put more of our funds towards veterinary care and other essential welfare needs.

Some of the parcels arrived without gift notes, so unfortunately we can't thank everyone personally. If you sent something anonymously, please know how incredibly grateful we are. Your kindness really does make a difference to the rabbits in our care.

A special thank you goes to YU, whose parcel included a gift note. Your generosity is very much appreciated by both the team and the bunnies. 🐰💚

Thank you all for your continued support. We couldn't do what we do without you.

🐰 A huge thank you from all the buns! 💚

We’ve had some lovely goodies arrive from our Amazon Wish List recently, and we wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has sent something for the rabbits in our care.

Every bag of food, box of treats and useful item really does make a difference. With lots of hungry mouths to feed, your donations help us provide everything the rabbits need while they’re with us, and we are incredibly grateful for every single item that arrives. 🥰🐰

At the moment, we’re running very low on Science Selective rabbit food and treats, so if anyone would like to send the buns a little something, contributions towards filling their tummies would be very gratefully received! 😋

Our Amazon Wish List can be found here:

Thank you, as always, for supporting the rabbits in our care. Every donation, big or small, helps us keep little tummies full and tails happy. 💚🐰

🐰 Meet some of the lovely rabbits waiting for their forever homes 🏡

We have some truly wonderful rabbits at Nibbles currently looking for families of their own. Some have only recently begun their search, while others have been waiting a very long time for someone to choose them.

Every rabbit who comes through our doors has their own story. They may have arrived because of a change in their family’s circumstances, because their needs could no longer be met, or for any number of other reasons beyond their control.

What they all have in common is that they deserve the chance to leave rescue behind and enjoy the love, attention and security of a forever home where they can truly become part of the family. 💚

Some of the rabbits are already happily bonded and looking for a home together, while our single rabbits are looking for homes where they can be bonded with an existing rabbit. Rabbits are social animals, and companionship from another rabbit is an important part of giving them the happy, fulfilling life they deserve.

All of our rabbits are neutered and vaccinated before adoption, and we’re here to help make sure each rabbit finds a home that can meet their individual needs.

By choosing to adopt, you’re not only offering a wonderful home to rabbits in need. Every successful adoption also creates space at Nibbles, allowing us to offer that same chance to another rabbit who needs our help.

So, have a look at some of the lovely faces currently waiting for their forever families. Perhaps the rabbit — or rabbits — you’ve been looking for are already here waiting for you. 🐰💚

And if you can’t adopt, please consider sharing. You never know who might see the rabbits they’ve been waiting for.

🐰Bun of the Week🐰 - Adopt Otis

Otis is a delightful chap, full of personality, binkies and cheekiness. He is a young bun not even a year old yet and already in rescue and looking for his forever home where he can bond with a wifebun of his own and enjoy time with his human family too.

He will make a wonderful addition to any family and unlike many rabbits he is not worried about being picked up.

You can find out more about him and the other buns we have looking for homes on our website at www.nibbles.org.uk/adoption, where you can also find information on our adoption process and T&C's.

Please note we are unable to handle any adoption enquiries via FB so please visit the link above.

A huge thank you to everybody who has recently sent items from our Amazon Wishlist. 💚

Over the past week we’ve had lots of parcels arriving at the centre filled with forage, enrichment and other much-needed supplies to help keep the rabbits happy, comfortable and well cared for during their stay with us. Unfortunately many of the parcels arrived anonymously, so we’re unable to thank everyone individually, but please know how incredibly grateful we are for every single item sent.

We’d also like to say a special thank you to Karen Alexander for her kindness and support. 🐰

These donations really do make such a difference, especially while we continue working hard to repair, restore and improve the centre after such a difficult few years. From tasty forage to practical day-to-day supplies, every item helps us provide better care and brighter days for the rabbits relying on us.

Thank you all so much for thinking of the buns. 💚

Despite our best efforts, the weather definitely hasn’t been on our side this week, with patchy showers limiting how much repair and restoration work we’ve been able to get done around the centre. ☔️

However, we have managed to finish the kennel block we started last week, including painting the second kennel and sorting the rain covers on both enclosures with new hooks and elastic. Yesterday, Otis and Mouse moved back into their newly refreshed homes and we’re really pleased with how the block has turned out. 🐰

We’ve also tried to make sensible use of the wetter periods indoors — much to the disgust of the rabbits — by continuing with spring moult removal armed with brushes! We know they feel much better after a good groom, but obviously none of them will ever admit it and instead we’re mostly met with very dramatic stink eye afterwards. 😅

At the moment, next week’s forecast is looking pretty wet too, so our plan is to focus on preparing our timber and metal sheeting order. Many of the remaining enclosures need far more than just a lick of paint and a little TLC, so we’re now moving towards the bigger repair jobs. We also need to clear space in the garage ready to store materials as we work our way through the remaining enclosures before turning our attention to other areas of the centre.

It’s hard work and there’s still a very long way to go, but after so long simply trying to survive day to day, it honestly means so much to finally be able to start properly repairing, restoring and improving the centre for the rabbits in our care — both now and in the future. 💚

NB: All planters and flowers around the centre have been kindly donated by team members.

A huge thank you to One Voice for Animals UK for their incredibly kind £150 donation towards the restoration works here at Nibbles.

After such a difficult few years, support like this genuinely makes a difference. Every contribution helps us continue repairing, restoring, and improving the centre so that we can move forward positively and provide safe, secure accommodation for the rabbits in our care.

We’re currently working hard behind the scenes on repairs, maintenance, and welfare improvements across the centre, and donations towards these works help us keep that progress moving forward.

Thank you for supporting both the rabbits currently in our care and the future of Nibbles. It truly means a great deal to us.

This week has been another busy one here at Nibbles as we continue working through essential repairs, maintenance and improvements around the centre.

These jobs often don’t look particularly dramatic in photos, but the reality is that each enclosure takes many hours of work behind the scenes. Yesterday alone took over 5 hours just to fully re-treat and repaint one enclosure.

Many of these enclosures haven’t been repainted or re-treated for a number of years during the incredibly difficult period we’ve faced since 2023, so this work isn’t simply about appearance — it’s about protecting the wood, improving durability, preventing weather damage, and helping safeguard the future of the housing our rabbits rely on every day.

One of the blocks we’ve been working on was originally installed in 2017 as three separate kennels. A few weeks ago we made the decision to open up the two smaller kennels to create one much larger enclosure to help enhance welfare for the rabbits in our care. At the same time we also removed an old rotten run door which was no longer fit for purpose.

This week work continued on this block and we:
🐇 Built and fitted the brand new run door
🐇 Powerhosed the inside and outside of the block, along with the paving at the front
🐇 Prepared the block ready for treatment and repainting
🐇 Repainted and re-treated the newly enlarged enclosure

We also started work on another enclosure by:
🐰 Replacing an old torn rain cover
🐰 Fixing a roof leak where heavy sideways rain had been running back underneath the roofing sheets and dripping inside the enclosure

Next week, weather permitting, we’re hoping to:
🐰 Repaint the second kennel in the block
🐰 Replace all the elastic and hooks used to secure the rain covers
🐰 Move Mouse and Otis back into their refreshed accommodation
🐰 Continue the repair work on the second enclosure

The weather has been a little fickle lately, so we’re having to work carefully around the rain showers where we can, but we’re making steady progress one enclosure at a time.

Thank you all so much for continuing to support us while we focus on this important phase of restoration and repair around the rescue. It truly means the world to us.

We’re taking a short sabbatical from Facebook… but we’re still very much here, working hard behind the scenes.

As many of you know, the past few years have been the most difficult in our 11-year history. Now, we’re in a position where we can begin repairing, restoring, and improving the centre—for the rabbits in our care today, and for those who will need us in the future.

There is a huge amount of work to do. Alongside the daily care of the rabbits, we’ve found it increasingly difficult to keep up with everything. So, we’ve made the decision to step back from as many office-based tasks as possible, allowing us to focus our time where it’s most urgently needed—on the centre itself.

We’ve already made a start on these essential works. Once completed, they will allow us to safely bring more housing back into use, depending on available funds. Without these repairs, some enclosures simply can’t be used.

We’ll do our best to share updates as we go, but please know that even if we’re quiet online, we’re incredibly busy on the ground.

We are still open for adoptions, and you can find all the rabbits currently looking for homes, along with information on our process, at:
www.nibbles.org.uk/adoption

Thank you to every single person who has given us the chance to rebuild. It means more than we can put into words.
