Can you help?

Although most of our residents are out enjoying the lovely grass we still have a number of ponies stabled, mostly due to laminitis, a few with more complex needs.

With horses currently stabled we therefore need to cater for their needs, if you can spare just £5 - the price of a bale of hay - this would help make a big difference and allow us to focus our financial resources on their other requirements such as feed, bedding and vet bills

Big thank you to Harriet for stepping in at short notice this morning to help bring these three ponies in, even managed to halter one mare enabling her to be led into the box (none of them have ever been haltered before or transported ) all three are now settled in their paddock

Below is a link to some of the items we currently need for our residents, a mixture of essential feed supplies, supplements, seasonal rugs and things we are generally in short supply of, equally if you happen to have any of these items laying around and no longer need them drop us a message!

Can you help us?

We are almost at capacity and have several residents with special care needs. Two currently on special feed and supplements are costing £120 per week just for their special diet, this is in addition to forage and bedding and we have a further special case joining us (same issue as one of our current special cases) that will increase this further.

Any help you can offer is massively appreciated

What we need;

Hay and Haylage we currently buy large quality nutritionally excellent bales at £30 per bale

Feeds we regularly use
Cushcare
Sixteen plus
Suregrow youngstock
Care and gain
Happy hoof non molasses chaff
Herbal cool mix
Sugar beet
Linseed oil
GWF one cup balancer

If you can donate a sack of feed or a voucher for us to restock that would be fantastic (vouchers preferred as storage space is limited)

Other regular purchases include shavings for bedding which we try to buy by the pallet where possible

Help us to continue the work we do and prevent more lovely horses from being PTS or abandoned through no fault of their own

The bills for feed, bedding and transport so far this week and that’s just a restock of things we needed, we have also spent another £70 on haylage and need to make another trip to restock on shavings for the stables
All this is in addition to our other costs;
Vet approximately £500 per month
Farrier around £300 per month
Dentist around £100 per month

It doesn’t end there either, we still have our fixed costs of rent for our land and stables, insurances and utilities

If there’s an emergency? Well then it costs more again!

If you can spare anything to help with the upkeep of our lovely residents then please do reach out, it doesn’t have to be cash donations, we always need feed, forage and bedding, rugs for all purposes (fly rugs are priority at present but winter rugs will be needed too) headcollars, ropes, buckets etc all help.

We currently have a few special care cases with us that are needing extra attention and specific feeds, treatments etc so all donations are appreciated 💕

We are also in the process of replacing and repairing fencing so if you have any spare posts, rails, gates or stock mesh please reach out to us (if you have a barn or a spare field or two then even better)

Donation/fundraising request!
With the weather improving the flies and other irritating pests are out in force and we have a shortage of fly rugs for our residents (many were damaged beyond repair last year and those that did survive are already in use by our residents)

What we need;
Fly rugs in all sizes from 3’6 to 7’

How you can help;
We are happy to accept donations of fly, UV and sweet itch rugs that are no longer needed (ok if damaged as we can do minor repairs if required)
Donations towards purchasing rugs for our residents, where possible we will try to source second hand rugs however we may need to buy some new as it’s not always possible to find the right styles and sizes in the preloved offerings

If you can help in any way please drop us a message the more we can gather the better as some of our lovely residents are super rug wreckers so spares are always needed

Also any donations towards fly sprays etc always gratefully appreciated!
