I can't go anywhere without finding animals in need 😅

We were along Hastings sea front today when I saw what I thought initially was one pigeon on the ground but ended up being a 2-4-1 as the stringfoot on one had somehow become entangled around the other pigeon!

Thankfully I was able to catch them fairly easily (and some lovely drivers slowed down for me and them so we all didn't need medical attention!) and get them back to where I'm staying for a quick de-string! Thankfully no long term or significant injuries so both were released back into the garden to find their way home 🥰

I don't think I will ever see another stringfoot like this one, but who knows 💞

I attended to this poor little soul yesterday after she was reported to The Fox Project. They had been after her for a while and even had a trap set up in a neighbour's garden but she was too clever for that! 🦊

She was staying in a garden that she frequented in West Wickham but unfortunately at some point she had been hit by a vehicle and no longer had the use of her back legs. It's heartbreaking coming out to these kinds of calls as there is likely to be only one ending 🥺

Foxes should never be easy to catch, and although she did try to get away, it took little effort to net her and get her into the crate. Tender Paws vet wasn't too far away and one of their lovely vets gave her the calm and dignified exit that she deserved. She brought many people in the area a little ray of sunshine when she visited and had been in the area for at least 4 years. She will be missed. RIP little one, run and jump free now 🫶

I have had so many lovely donations of pet food, toys, blankets, towels and other essential equipment recently that I am truly overwhelmed by people's generosity 🥰

However I do still need help financially to cover vet costs, such as health checks, initial assessments, microchipping, vaccinating, neutering and other individual health costs. Anyone who has a pet knows that these things are essential but also very expensive! This is why I'm reaching out to ask that if you can spare any money at all, even a fiver, it would mean so much! 🙏🏼

We are so happy to say that since new year these 7 beautiful babies have found their fur-ever homes 💞🥰 it's been a pleasure watching them grow and caring for them and as hard as it is to see them leave, we are always so happy when they do because they can get that undivided love and attention they deserve!

This poor little one was found in Shirley on the 2nd floor flats corridor. He was cold, tired and scared. Thankfully a lovely lady reported him to London Wildlife Protection and I was asked to attend to catch him. The sweet thing didn't even put up a fight because he was so weak. He's a youngster but very underweight and required fluids and tube feeding so he was taken to an experienced rehabber in Purley, where he is now getting the best care and it is hoped he will make a full recovery 🥰

I can't even go to family for Christmas without finding a little soul needing help. This time it was a young seagull who couldn't fly. At first sight he seemed OK other than choosing the pavement to sit on, but it quickly transpired that he was only able to use his little legs to get away and not his wings. After a brief chase around a block of flats, I managed to corner him and he thanked me by giving some hard pecks 🤣 once safely in a crate I went about asking friends and colleagues for a local seagull-friendly rescue when I was recommended Bexhill and Hastings Wildlife Rescue and Sanctuary.

After settling him in with them and giving him some food and water, they will assess him properly and then make arrangements for him to move on to a Wildlife Hospital. He is a little underweight from first assessments but we will have to wait and see for the reason why he isn't flying. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 he will be soaring the coastal skies again soon! Good luck little one 🥰

Merry Christmas to everyone and their beloved pets 🥰

Please remember that a pet of any kind is a lifelong commitment - their lifespan! Don't get them as gifts for children unless you are willing to take over their care when the novelty inevitably wears off 🙀

There are already so many pets homeless and searching for love - don't add to the burden that rescues are already facing. Do your research on breeds, traits, lifespans etc. Don't get them unless you can commit to them.
