Why Cross Culture?

Croydon is one of London's most diverse boroughs, shaped by generations of communities from across the world. The rise of divisive right-wing political ideology across the world shows that response and cultural unity through music, is much needed, now more than ever.

Our first ticketed event celebrates this connective spirit by bringing together artists whose journeys span continents while remaining deeply connected to their roots.

Through music, culture, and shared experiences, this event creates space for connection, understanding, and celebration in our town, Croydon.

Born in Sri Lanka and now based in Toronto, Navz-47 is a pioneering Tamil rapper whose music explores identity, migration, culture, and empowerment.

Known for blending Tamil and English lyricism with hard-hitting beats and socially conscious themes, she has become an influential voice for the global Tamil diaspora.

Hailing from Croydon, Jords is one of the UK's most respected independent artists. His music combines rap, soul, and Afro-Caribbean influences with honest storytelling rooted in family, community, and South London life.

As a proud Croydon representative, Jords continues to champion local culture while connecting with global audiences.

A huge thank you to Adem from SXSW London for the complimentary pass and the opportunity to be part of such an inspiring gathering of innovators, creatives, and changemakers.

The experience provided valuable insights, meaningful connections, and plenty of inspiration for the work we do at Beats & Eats CIC, using music, culture, and community to create positive social impact.

We also had the opportunity to support one of our very own Croydon talents JORDS who smashed his set!!
