Could you help shape the future of 28th Croydon Scouts?

As our Scout Group continues to grow, we are looking for new volunteers to join our Trustee Board ahead of our AGM on Sunday 5 July 2026.

Our Trustees help support the running of the Group behind the scenes — helping oversee finances, buildings, governance, fundraising and future planning — so that local young people can continue enjoying amazing Scouting opportunities.

You do not need previous Scouting experience. We would particularly welcome people with skills or experience in:
🔹 Property or building management
🔹 Legal or governance
🔹 Communications or marketing
🔹 Fundraising
🔹 IT or cyber security
🔹 Project management
🔹 Finance or business

We are also particularly keen to recruit a Trustee Board Secretary to help coordinate meetings, actions and administration.

This is a rewarding and manageable volunteer role, and a great way to support young people in our community.

✨ Didn’t we have a magical time at Family Camp 2026! ✨

What an incredible weekend of adventure, laughter, friendship and a little bit of wizardry at our Scouting School of Wizardry 🪄⛺

From wand making, broomsticks and potions, to Quidditch, wide games, campfires and late-night laughs — it was amazing to see over 100 members, families and volunteers come together to make such special memories.

A huge thank you to every volunteer who gave up their time before, during and after camp. Events like this simply could not happen without you ❤️

Thank you also to Walton Firs Activity Centre and Mitcham Zoo.

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did — and that you’ve all finally caught up on some sleep!

This Saturday, we’re hosting our Race Night Fundraiser – and you’re invited!

Saturday 21 March | 7:00pm – 10:30pm
Church Hall, Our Lady of the Annunciation
Bingham Road, Croydon, CR0 7EN

Come along for a brilliant evening of fun, laughter, and friendly competition as we watch a series of exciting races, place our bets, and cheer on our horses. Whether you’re feeling lucky or just coming for the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.

🍔 Food & treats available on the night:
Burgers • Hot Dogs • Chips • Cakes • Sweet Cones 🍬

🎟️ Expect:
• Multiple fun races
• A final auction race where you can bid for your horse and jockey
• A great community atmosphere
• Plenty of chances to win and get involved

Our Scout HQ is at the heart of everything we do for young people in our community. From weekly meetings to camps and activities, it’s a space where skills grow, friendships form, and confidence builds.

However… our roof won’t survive another winter.

We urgently need to raise £20,000 to repair and refurbish it, so we can keep providing a safe, warm space for all our young people.

Every ticket bought, every burger eaten, and every bet placed helps us get closer to that goal ❤️
