🌱 Exciting news from Croydon University Hospital!

Construction has begun on a new dementia garden, funded by Croydon Health Charity, that will provide a welcoming outdoor space for patients living with dementia, their families and carers.

Featuring sensory planting, accessible pathways and peaceful seating areas, the garden has been carefully designed to support wellbeing, encourage social interaction and help patients enjoy the benefits of spending time outdoors.

A big thanks to our friends Croydon Football Club for inviting us to their family fun day 🌞🌞💕

We had a great time meeting supporters and raising awareness of our Brighter Starts appeal to support the Neonatal Unit Croydon Health Services NHS Trust

Thanks as ever to our wonderful volunteers Ali and John who helped us so much today.

Our collection raised £214 to support our appeal. Thank you everyone❤️

We were delighted to visit the amazing Red Robin Montessori Nursery this week to thank staff and children for raising a fantastic £700 for our Neonatal Unit.

This wonderful donation was raised by nursery parents and staff hosting a bake sale, as well as arts and crafts event.

We are excited to welcome staff and volunteers Croydon Health Services NHS Trust to our NHS Big Tea event tomorrow (Tuesday 7 July).

A big thank you to all the volunteers supporting the event, Unison Croydon University Hospital and Capsticks LLP and Keystream for their wonderful raffle prize donations.

The event marking 78 years of the NHS will take place from 12-2pm in the Chaplaincy Gardens.

Better late than never… a bit like marathon recovery time 😅🏃‍♂️

A huge congratulations and thank you to our CEO, Matthew Kershaw, for completing the London Marathon in support of our Dementia Garden Appeal for Croydon Health Services 💙

Matthew not only crossed the finish line, but smashed his fundraising target — raising an incredible £2,860, almost 150% of his original £2,000 goal!

Our charity team were also there on the day cheering him on every step of the way 👏

Every donation will help us create a welcoming and therapeutic outdoor space for patients living with dementia, supporting wellbeing, comfort and connection for patients and their loved ones.

Our Chief Executive, Matthew Kershaw, is taking on an incredible challenge this April – running the London Marathon to support a cause close to all of our hearts 💙

He’s raising funds for our Dementia Garden Appeal, helping to create a calm, therapeutic outdoor space for patients living with dementia. A place that offers comfort, safety and moments of connection for patients and their families during what can often be a difficult time.

By taking on 26.2 miles, Matthew is helping to bring this vision to life – but he can’t do it alone.

Every donation, share or message of support will help us create a space that brings joy, dignity and familiarity to those who need it most.
