Beyond Barriers

Beyond Barriers Beyond Barriers at CrossRoads Care is a project that provides a service to support and assist Cares

This Project is funded for three years to work in Merton, Croydon, Sutton, Wandsworth and Lambeth specifically. We are targeting “hard to reach” LGBT, BME and refugee and asylum seekers, carers and former carers who it has become evident are not accessing support services. We aim to provide a volunteer mentoring service to try and address issues such as, isolation, community involvement and access

to services, skills acquisition, ways into employment and an overall improvement in wellbeing for the volunteers, carers and former carers involved.

This week is National Volunteers Week so we would like to take this opportunity to thank our hardworking and dedicated team of volunteers. You each play a vital role in enabling us to improve the community and provide the services we do!

Volunteering with us is becoming very popular, this coming weekend will be running our second volunteer induction! Make sure you keep an eye out in your local community for any volunteer events happening near you.

Once again, a big thank you from the team here at Beyond Barriers!

To read more:

There are over 75 countries in the world today where it is a criminal offence to be gay. These countries punish women, men and children because of their sexuality and in seven countries the punishment is death.
