Last week, two of our cadets had the privilege of attending the Cheshire Lord-Lieutenant’s Awards Ceremony, recognising the outstanding achievements and contributions of young people from across the county.

Representing 70 Squadron with pride, both cadets joined fellow award recipients, community leaders and dignitaries for an evening celebrating dedication, service and personal achievement.

We are incredibly proud to see our cadets recognised at such a prestigious event and congratulate them on this well-deserved achievement.

A fantastic week at GMWSW26 for the 16 cadets from 70 Squadron.

Well done to all involved.

GMWSW26 complete.

Over the past week, almost 200 cadets and 60 staff came together to deliver an outstanding Greater Manchester Wing Skills Week. Together, we awarded 578 training badges and qualifications, delivered more than 10,500 hours of training, and successfully ran one of the first RAF Air Cadets courses to deliver the new Gold Fieldcraft syllabus.

This photo captures only a small part of what has been achieved across the week. New skills have been learned, challenges overcome, friendships formed and memories made.

There is much more to share, and over the coming days and weeks we'll be highlighting the activities, achievements and people that made GMWSW26 such a success.

To every cadet and member of staff who took part, thank you for making it a week to remember.

An outstanding effort from the team at the Inter-Squadron Athletics Competition, finishing 2nd place overall and missing out on top spot by just a single point.

A fantastic display of determination, teamwork and resilience across the full day, with every cadet contributing towards an incredibly close result.

Next year it's ours!!

Our building may have been temporarily closed, but we certainly didn't stop! In todays video our cadets took on the challenge of indoor climbing, developing confidence, teamwork and resilience whilst pushing themselves outside their comfort zones.

From first climbs to reaching the top routes, every cadet showed determination and encouragement towards one another throughout the evening.

Activities like this help build problem solving skills, communication and self-confidence whilst giving cadets the opportunity to experience something different in a safe and supportive environment.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate two of our cadets who have been awarded Lord-Lieutenant Certificates as part of this year’s Cheshire Lieutenancy Awards.

These awards recognise outstanding achievement, commitment and contribution to both the RAF Air Cadets and the wider community. To see two of our cadets recognised at this level is a fantastic achievement and thoroughly deserved.
