No Breast Friends group near you? We'd love to change that! 💗

We've had quite a few people telling us they wish there was a Breast Friends group in their town. And we want to make that happen!

Here's our South West London Ambassador, Verity, enjoying a cuppa and a catch-up with a couple of ladies from her local Breast Friends community. ☕️

Nothing fancy. Just a chance to get together with people who get it. 💗

We want to see more of this happening across the country, but we need more people willing to become volunteer Ambassadors to help make it happen.

You don't need any special experience, just a willingness to bring people together. We'll help you get started and support you along the way!

💗 HELLO DEVON! 👋

Our very first Breast Friends meet-up in Devon! And just look at this lovely bunch! 🥰

A huge thank you to our wonderful new Ambassador for Torbay, Victoria, for bringing everyone together.

We're absolutely thrilled to be reaching more places and connecting more people affected by breast cancer.

Because sometimes, just sitting down with a cuppa and chatting to someone who gets it can make such a difference. No pressure, no expectations. Just friendly faces, a listening ear and the chance to make a few new friends along the way. 💗

We'd love to see more little groups like this popping up across the country!

What a difference finding 'people who just get it' can make.

People you can laugh with, have a moan with, ask the awkward questions or simply enjoy a cuppa with.

People who understand the things you sometimes struggle to explain to everyone else.

That's what Breast Friends is all about.

We're a community of people affected by breast cancer, bringing people together for friendship, support and a bit of normality when life feels anything but normal.

Whether you're newly diagnosed, going through treatment or finding your feet afterwards, we'd love to welcome you.

Because sometimes, knowing there's someone who understands can make all the difference. 💗

Connecting people affected by breast cancer.

Turns out, quite a lot can happen over a cuppa and a sewing machine… 🧵☕️

The last Friday of every month is when our lovely Sew Much Love volunteers get together to make the handcrafted items that go into our Breast Friends Kits.

We popped in on Friday and it was lovely to see everyone sewing, stuffing, chatting and generally getting through an incredible amount!

Between everyone there and those who had been busy making at home, we collected:
💕 390 heart cushions
🧵 270 drain bags
🪡 122 tissue holders
💜 120 lavender bags

That's a fabulous 902 items that will now make their way into our Breast Friends Kits and out to people going through breast cancer treatment and surgery. So we thought it was about time we introduced you to some of the lovely faces behind them. 💗

A huge thank you to everyone who came along on Friday, and to all those who sew for us from home too. We know just how much time and care goes into making all of these and we really couldn’t do it without you.

A really special first for 2Shine Ipswich 💗

Earlier today, Louise, our wonderful new 2Shine Ipswich Ambassador, hosted her very first meet-up.

We know how much it matters to find people who understand the reality of living with secondary breast cancer. To have somewhere you can turn up, have a coffee, talk about the hard stuff or not talk about it at all, and know you’re amongst people who get it.

That’s exactly why for some time, we've wanted 2Shine Ipswich to exist, and seeing it around a table for the first time feels pretty special.

We’re incredibly grateful to Louise for helping us make this happen. And a big thank you to Rob and all the team at Notcutts Woodbridge for, as always, making our Breast Friends community feel so welcome.

The next 2Shine Ipswich meet-up is Tuesday 27th October. If you’re living with a secondary breast cancer diagnosis, we’d absolutely love you to join us.💗

A HUGE thank you to Store Manager Jackie and the team at Co-op Hurstlea Road in Needham Market, who have raised an incredible £1,719.89 for Breast Friends!

Being just down the road from Breast Friends HQ makes this one feel particularly special. There’s something lovely about local people and local businesses getting behind the work we’re doing right here in our community.

This money will help us continue providing our free Surgery and Menopause Kits, as well as creating more opportunities for women affected by breast cancer to find support, connection and people who really understand.

So a massive thank you to Jackie, the whole Co-op team, and every single customer and supporter who helped make this happen. We’re so grateful. 💗

And a little shout-out to our other local businesses too… 👋

Making the most of the sunshine at our Community Coffee Morning, and basically doing what we do best… sitting around, having a chat and usually laughing about something we probably shouldn’t!

We’re here on the first Saturday of every month and everyone is welcome. Come with a friend or come on your own. There’ll always be someone to sit with and someone to talk to. 💕

Anyone else feel like everything is better when you can sit outside?

Sometimes, you just want to be around women who are living a life that looks a little like yours.

That’s really what Breast Friends 2Shine is about.

A chance for women living with secondary breast cancer to come together away from hospitals, appointments and treatment rooms.

To have a coffee. To talk. To laugh. To make friendships. To share the difficult stuff when you want to, and to leave cancer firmly out of the conversation when you don’t.
There’s no agenda and no expectation.
Just time together.

Louise is living with secondary breast cancer and is part of our 2Shine community.

🎂 Breast Friends is FIVE! 💕

And to think it all started with a beach hut, a chat and a pink G&T... which, looking back, feels suspiciously on brand. 😂

Five years ago today, our Co-Founders Carrie and Janine met for the very first time on Felixstowe beach and talked about doing something to make breast cancer feel a little less lonely for other women.

Carrie wrote about that conversation in her beach hut guest book that day. Swipe to read it. Five years later, it’s quite something to look back on. 🥹

Because that little idea grew.

Into friendships. Coffees. Walks. Pack and Chats. Messages at just the right time. Lots of laughter. A fair few tears. And, most importantly, women showing up for other women. 💕

And we haven’t done it alone.

So many brilliant people have backed us, helped us, volunteered, fundraised, donated, shared, encouraged and generally mucked in along the way.

Today, we’re celebrating every single person who’s been part of the last five years, but especially our incredible community of women. 💕
