Today, our trustee Kelly reflects on pet loss as she remembers Bumble Beatrice ❤️

“This is me, almost 10 years ago with my baby bulldog, Bumble Beatrice ❤️ Painful grief can come in many forms and saying goodnight to a beloved pet can feel like losing a member of the family.

I still miss Bumble and her funny little personality, her cuddles, her snorts and even her bum-burps!!

For anyone grieving the loss of a cherished companion, please know that your loss matters and your feelings are valid.”

For many of us, pets become woven into our everyday lives. They become routine, comfort, companionship and home in ways that can be difficult to explain to others.

When they die, the silence they leave behind can feel enormous.

Thank you, Kelly, for sharing Bumble with us and reminding us that grief exists wherever love existed first 🤍

For those we carry differently now
~ A memorial tattoo series by Airlie Days

There is something quietly special about the bond between a nana and granddaughter.

For some, it’s built in ordinary moments: cups of tea, shopping trips, school pickups, recipes passed down, advice given freely, and the comfort of always knowing someone was in your corner.

When someone passes away, we don’t only grieve the person. We grieve the conversations we thought we’d still have, the milestones we imagined sharing, and the version of home that existed in them.

This memorial tattoo was shared with us as a way of carrying that connection forward, a permanent reminder that love doesn’t end when someone is no longer physically here.

Thank you for trusting us with something so personal.

Do you have a memorial tattoo for someone you carry differently now? We’d love to hear the story behind it and feature it as part of this series 🤍

For those we carry differently now 🤍

I’m missing my grandad and today it feels heavy. I feel lucky to have so many memories with him and, strangely, so many of them seem to live around a simple cup of coffee, so I’ve frothed my milk and used the Nespresso UK & Ireland machine to knock up a little cappuccino to sit and remember him with this morning.

He didn’t just enjoy coffee, the fella lived for the stuff! He was a renowned coffee connoisseur, known for drinking 10-15 cups a day at least! He had his own (rather professional, actually) Nespresso set up and would take such pleasure in making us all a cosi or ristretto.

There’s something comforting about those ordinary rituals we inherit. Sitting with a coffee now, I find myself thinking of him, remembering his humour, his wonderful way and the quiet moments that didn’t feel important at the time, but somehow became the ones I treasure most.

Today’s coffee has an additional boost as it is infused with ginseng which is said to bring a little warmth and energy.

Sometimes grief lives in the everyday, in our habits and in our cuppas ☕️

What ordinary moments still make you feel connected to the people you miss? 🤍

A very special thank you to Amber Cox for our cups!🤍🥰🤍

For Those We Carry Differently Now
~ A memorial tattoo series by Airlie Days

Losing someone when you’re young can feel incredibly isolating.

While life continues around you, you’re left learning how to navigate milestones, celebrations, ordinary days and difficult moments without someone you thought would be there.

Grief at a young age often means growing up alongside loss. Becoming a different version of yourself whilst carrying the memory of someone who helped shape who you are.

This tattoo is a reminder of that connection, of a life that matters, a relationship that continues, and a person who is still loved and deeply missed every day.

Today, we are honoured to share another story behind the tattoo. 🤍

Do you have a memorial tattoo? We’d love to hear the story behind it.

Grief does not follow a timeline nor does it always make sense. Our emotions are fluid at the best of times, let alone when we feel vulnerable or are navigating a difficult time. Sending love to those feeling emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed or otherwise 🤍🫖🤍

For many of us, our pets are never “just pets”.

They become part of our routines, our safe place after a difficult day, the quiet presence that follows us from room to room. They witness our lives in ways few others do, asking for nothing more than our love in return.

When they die, the silence they leave behind can feel enormous.

This tattoo was shared with us in memory of Lady, a soul dog whose love, loyalty and companionship continue to leave a lasting imprint.

Thank you for trusting us with such a special part of your story.

Grief changes the way we notice the world…

A butterfly.
A robin.
A song on the radio.
The smell of their aftershave.
The colour of the evening sky.

Suddenly, something ordinary becomes extraordinary because it carries a memory of someone we love.

Perhaps they are signs. Perhaps they are reminders. Perhaps they are simply love finding its way back to us.

What reminds you of your person? 🤍

THE SPACE BETWEEN
x
Very special thanks to for providing the space for this very special event🤍

✨A grief-centred ceremony of remembrance, reflection and connection.✨

Grief asks a lot of us. It asks us to carry love, longing, heartbreak and memories whilst continuing to show up for everyday life. Sometimes what we need isn’t advice, solutions, or ways to move forward. Sometimes, we simply need space.

Created by Awaken With Anya in collaboration with Airlie Days, The Space Between is a safe, supportive, and nurturing collective experience for anyone wishing to honour a loved one, acknowledge loss, and gently explore the emotions that can accompany grief.

Whether your loss is more recent or from many years ago, you are warmly welcome to join us. Together, we will create an open and compassionate space to pause, reflect, remember, and connect with others who understand the complexities of loss.

The ceremony includes:
• a moment of reflection with the opportunity to journal intentions
• a powerful and empowering session of guided breathwork
• a practice using conscious breathing techniques to help regulate the nervous system and support emotional release
• a sound bath, an immersive experience using soothing frequencies to encourage deep relaxation,
• a closing circle with complementary tea

This is not about fixing grief or moving on from it. It is an opportunity to be with your grief, honour your person, and give yourself permission to simply be held in a supportive space.

📍 Calm Collective, Sidcup
📅 Saturday 11th July
⏰ 2:30pm–4:30pm

Spaces are very limited. This is a ticketed event and as it is the first of its kind, places are at a special introductory offer of £15pp.

All proceeds will support the work of Airlie Days, helping us continue to provide early bereavement support to individuals and families navigating the devastating reality of loss.

To reserve your space, please message Airlie Days directly via DM or email [email protected] 🤍

For Those We Carry Differently Now
~ A memorial tattoo series by Airlie Days

Some memorial tattoos are small and subtle and others are impossible to miss. But behind each one is something much bigger: a person whose life left a lasting impact.

Today’s story is a reminder that grief and love often sit side by side, long after loss. Thank you for allowing us to share it. 🤍

Do you have a memorial tattoo? We’d love to hear the story behind it.
