🌸🌸 We’re going for a flower theme this week. Yesterday we held a flower workshop at the CCG Allotment. Big thanks to one of our amazing and experienced allotment neighbours, who led the workshop, and gave us lots of advice about growing flowers on our plot in the specially created beds. We’ll post updates as summer progresses. We’ve also been flower spotting around the allotment this spring - both wild and cultivated - check out our video 🌸🌸

One of our volunteers went along to an open day at Charles Dowding's Homeacres as part of Alhampton Open Gardens. She had a lovely time, learning lots about the no dig scheme - something we follow at our Crawley Community Garden plots.
Some ideas were brought back regarding temporary borders for beds and also how to set up the compost bins. She took lots of pictures, attached below. For more information on no dig, here is a link to a beginners guide https://charlesdowding.co.uk/blogs/no-dig-resources/beginners-guide

She also really enjoyed meeting Gert Schley at his Meadowside garden where she got more ideas about edibles in between other plants.
