This Volunteers' Week, we want to say a huge thank you to the thousands of Royal Air Force Air Cadets volunteers who give their time, skills and energy to support young people across the UK πŸ‘

Whether they're running parade nights, leading adventure training expeditions, teaching aviation subjects, supporting flying or shooting activities, driving minibuses, fundraising, managing accounts, serving on civilian committees, or simply being there when a cadet needs encouragement - volunteers are the foundation of the Air Cadets 🀩

From all of us at the Air Cadet Charity, thank you for everything you do. The difference you make reaches far beyond the parade square πŸ‘

Know a volunteer who goes above and beyond? Tag them below and help us recognise their contribution this Volunteers' Week 😎

Cadets from 2478 Abergavenny Squadron Air Training Corps now have access to a new flight simulator with VR capability and 15 Chromebooks, giving more cadets access to online learning and qualifications 🀩

Good luck to all those working towards their Blue Wings badge 😁

The cadets and staff of 2478 would like to thank the Air Cadet Charity for the recent digital upgrades they have funded.

We now have a modern flight sim including VR for cadets to use, the squadron has been without a flight sim for a couple years so it is great to finally have one back. The flight sim allows cadets to complete Blue PTT training or just practice their skills and compete with other cadets.

Once cadets have completed Blue PTT and been for either an Air Experience Flight or Gliding Induction Flight they are then awarded the Blue Wings badge.

We have also been able to purchase 15 Chromebooks to allow cadet to complete online training such as classification and the Bronze IDEA Award

⚠ Adventure Training Equipment Grant Update ⚠

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected technical issue, the Adventure Training Equipment Grant application form is currently unavailable.

We'll share an update on our social media channels as soon as applications reopen. To ensure nobody is disadvantaged, the application window will be extended to allow sufficient time for submissions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

30/05/2026

We are aware of a technical issue with the new Adventure Training Equipment Grant application form. We've identified a glitch with the platform that hosts the form.

Unfortunately, this is unlikely to be resolved before Monday.

Be assured that all AT Equipment grant applications will be processed once the application window closes on 30th June, so nobody will be disadvantaged by not applying early.

Thank you for your patience while this is being addressed. We'll provide another update once rectified.
