Think you know what cardiac arrest looks like? Think again.
๐ฃ Heart emergencies can happen to anyone young, fit, healthy and often without warning.
โค๏ธโ๐ฉน Thatโs why weโre fundraising to bring more defibrillators into our community to save lives when it matters most.
๐ In the UK, fewer than 1 in 10 people survive a cardiac arrest outside of hospital, that changes dramatically with early action:
๐ If someone receives a shock from a defibrillator within 3โ5 minutes of collapse, survival rates can climb to upto 70%. Compared with the low overall survival without one. ๏ฟผ
๐ Every single minute counts:
For every minute defibrillation is delayed the chance of survival drops by about 10%. ๏ฟผ
๐ Studies also show that when bystanders use an AED, the chances of making it to hospital and leaving hospital alive can be more than doubled or even higher compared to waiting for ambulance arrival alone. ๏ฟผ
๐ก AEDs are designed for everyday people to use no medical training needed. They give clear spoken instructions and are safe to use.
