GREAT NEWS - BRANDON AND WOLSTON VILLAGE HALL IS TO
HAVE A NEW ROOF
'' As we are all aware, time takes its toll on all buildings and our beautiful Village Hall is undergoing much needed refurbishment and upgrading throughout.
In the recent past many residents, users of the hall, local organisations and the business community have made greatly appreciated donations to support these necessary works. However, the Hall remains dependent on Grant funding to tackle the high value repairs and improvements that are planned and sourcing such funding support remains a high priority for the Village Hall Trustees.'
Brandon & Wolston Village Hall has successfully received grant funding to the value of £66,190 from Valencia Community Funding for the replacement and insulation of
the main tiled roof of the village hall.
In order to fulfil the terms of the funding application, 10% of the overall cost was required from a 3rd party. Wolston Parish Council contributed/granted £5,000 and the remaining 10% of £1,619 has been funded via the village hall’s own funds, which
have been raised from local community contributions.
It is proposed that the work on the roof will commence on Wednesday 3rd of April, when scaffolding will be erected and as such will make the car park inaccessible for a period of time.
Whilst this work is being carried out it will be business as usual. The hall will remain open and anyone hiring the hall will be made aware of any health and safety issues that may arise as the project progresses.
