With bonfire night just around the corner, now is the time to prepare your pet to cope with firework noises.

Building a safe place or den for frightened animals to hide in can be a great comfort, however it is often worth building this well in advance of any firework displays to give your pet time to familiarise themselves with this new location.

The use of calming supplements and pheromones can be worth considering, and we are happy to advise on which may be best for your situation.

Similarly, if you know that your pet needs any form of medication to get them through, making sure you have booked an appointment in advance to arrange this will help avoid any delays.

Please give our reception team a ring or head over to our website to book an appointment online.

WARNING

It looks like there is a new doglost scam doing the rounds

If you put your phone number on your missing dog post, you’ll be WhatsApped very quickly by a convincing member of the local “doglost team” who urge you to register on doglost.co.uk (always recommended anyway) and then ask if you have thermal drone support and start offering advice

Apart from some dodgy spelling - you’d be hard pushed (unless you’re used to the scammers) to know this wasn’t genuine

Once I confirmed I’d be checking her identity with doglost I was blocked before the request for the payment to get thermal drone support was made

Please - if you lose your dog - always try and use a missing dog team, they put their own numbers on and are used to these tactics, so can filter out this rubbish

For info - the key local doglost contacts for this area are Lissy Timms, Debbie Evans and Sarah Gale. Always check with them or us whether someone is genuine or just use a team (none of us ever charge) to help.
