CRASAC

CRASAC Coventry R**e and Sexual Abuse Centre is the only specialist service in Coventry for adults and child This includes online abuse and exploitation.

Coventry R**e and Sexual Abuse Centre (CRASAC) is the only specialist service in Coventry for adults and children who have been impacted directly or indirectly by sexual violence or abuse at any time in their lives. We aim to address the trauma and injustice of sexual abuse through specialist advocacy, counselling and psychotherapy, training, and prevention services. Our work helps victims and sur

vivors overcome the effects on wellbeing, physical and mental health, and regain the lost power and control as a result of sexual violence and abuse. CRASAC’s experienced team includes specialist counsellors who are experts in trauma informed therapy; Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) who provide advocacy and crisis support especially around the criminal justice system; and trained emotional support workers. Partnerships are crucial to the work we do, and by bringing our expertise to regional organisations and statutory services, we are able to provide the best possible advice and support to the communities we serve. NHS England are currently recruiting new members to join a sexual assault and abuse services (SAAS) lived experience group. Individuals in the group have non-recent and recent lived experience of sexual assault and abuse. They are keen to hear from as diverse a range of applicants as possible.

This group has an important role to play in helping NHS England to develop and improve SAAS, including sexual assault referral centres (SARCs). The closing date for applications is Monday 26th August. For more information or to apply, please visit the link in our bio.

Our brilliant supporter Jade has been amazing in so many ways. And what a way to end the week - smashing her fundraising target and crucially raising awareness of CRASAC and the vital service we offer. ✨

A huge thank you to everyone who has expressed their support over the difficult decision we’ve had to make to close our waiting list to new counselling referrals (age 13+) due to a cut in funding.

As the only specialist service available in Coventry, we realise this will come as a disappointment for many people.

We are actively campaigning and seeking additional sources of funding to continue to provide the service that victims/survivors of sexual violence and abuse need and deserve.

👉Please support our cause by signing our petition, writing to your MP, or joining our protest.

Tens of thousands of child sexual abuse victims face long waits for vital support, a major report has found.

In the West Midlands there are an estimated 20,000 victims for every support service available and waiting times have doubled since 2015.

“I will be running this half marathon not only for who I am today but for the 3-year-old me who didn’t know what was happening. I am running it for all the future girls, boys, women and men who will receive support from CRASAC. The work CRASAC do is truly life-changing.”
