It doesn’t happen by magic, we need your help
It is now less than 2 months to the Summer Fair. If you have ever been involved with anything like this, you’ll know how much planning goes into this. And no matter how well you plan, come the day before and the day itself, there are moments when you think you’re never going to be ready. Plus being the UK, you are constantly looking at weather forecasts and even if you have a good outlook, you’ve still got your eyes on the sky fretting that the weather might turn against you.
So it is stressful? Too right it is. Rewarding? Yes, as people start to leave towards the end of the day and you see the smiles on the faces of visitors, stall-holders and volunteers, you do get a real sense of achievement.
As a PTA we hope to raise at least £5k per year, on a good year it can be £6k+. And whether we have a ‘good year’ is largely dependent on the Summer Fair as what this day raises typically accounts for 35-50% of what we collect each school year. Of course, this all makes a big difference to what we can then give to the school in terms of funding to do things that make the environment our children learn in. YOUR child / children learn in.
Of course we hope that you’ll be able to come along and support the day, visit the various stalls and dig deep into your pockets safe in the knowledge that the money your spending will gradually benefit the school, and by default the children themselves.
