The Climate Reality Project Campus Corps is a brand new group in Warwick University. Our aim is to make Warwick along with other campuses across Britain sustainable! We want to ensure a change in policy, leading the challenge against establishment rules when it comes to environmental crisis. We want to tackle the greatest challenge of our lifetime: Climate Change. We are currently working on a few
projects notably:
-Meatless Monday, aiming at reducing the consumption of red meat on campus and promoting healthy vegetarian/vegan meals instead.
-Climate Justice Conference Panel; a speakers event during which we will discuss Climate Change and human rights interaction.
-Recycled Flyers project, aiming at reducing paper waste in Universities by using flyers made out of recycled paper and encourage societies to use alternatives to flyers. Rawkus directly helps community in concrete ways, directly advocating a change in consciousness when it comes to food wastage by uprooting the systems set in place that leave a continual destruction to our habitat. We do this by intercepting food that is going to be thrown away, providing change on an up close and personal level. We see the food wasted as a new concept for change and a chance to show others that food, like our environment, is not something that should be wasted. Through both organisations, we can distinctly play a part in changing our understanding of sustainability at Warwick University. Please contact us if you have any questions and want to get involved! We are looking out for dedicated volunteers to help us make this new society a success!
