REPLACE 2 aims to tackle Female Ge***al Mutilation (FGM) by working directly with FGM practising communities in the EU, using a psycosocial approach of research and intervention. It is a follow up of the pilot project REPLACE also funded by the Daphne III Programme, including both some of the previous partners and other new organisations working with practising communities for the identification o

f the barriers that obstacle and factors that facilitate the ending of FGM. A series of activities including Community Action Based Research, community based workshops and interventions targeting behaviour change from community groups practising FGM will take place throughout the running of the REPLACE 2 project. The direct beneficiaries are the children and young women at risk of FGM. Main activities will be:
- focus groups and interviews to members from FGM practising communities, lead by community researchers in Italy, Portugal and Spain;
- community based workshops held in UK, The Netherlands, Italy, Portugal and Spain;
- updating of the Toolkit with the new findings and developments.
