This morning, we were delighted to deliver the following announcement from Bishop Sophie.

Following a national search and a thorough interview process involving representatives from St Stephen’s, St John’s and St James’, Bishop Sophie is delighted to announce that the Reverend Gareth Irvine has been chosen to serve as the next Vicar of the Bridge Coventry and Priest-in-Charge of St James’ Fletchamstead.

Gareth is currently vicar of St Laurence Foleshill, where he has served for nine years and carried wider leadership responsibilities. Gareth is married to Jenny, who is also ordained and works in the Diocesan central team. Gareth and Jenny have two children. Many years ago, they met as students as St John’s which has always held a special place in their hearts. Though sad to be leaving St Laurence’s, where they have been very happy, they are delighted to be joining the Bridge in this next season at a very different time in the life of the benefices and look forward to all that God will do in the years ahead.
