£50. NEED GONE. FIRST TO COLLECT CAN HAVE HER.

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL. JUST HEARTBREAKING. 😡

Today, this little girl came into our rescue, and quite frankly, we are absolutely disgusted.

Meet Dorry. 💙

Dorry is NINE YEARS OLD. Nine years of age, and she was being advertised for just £50, with the words “need gone, first to come and get the dog can have the dog.”
As though she were a piece of unwanted furniture. Something to get rid of as quickly as possible.
Thankfully, one of our amazing volunteers stepped in and went to collect her.
Dorry is now SAFE with us.But it doesn't end there.

🐾 She's not spayed.
🐾 She's not vaccinated.
🐾 She's not microchipped.
🐾 She's had no flea or worm treatment that we're aware of.
🐾 And heartbreakingly, she has what looks like very sore, uncomfortable skin that desperately needs veterinary attention.

NINE YEARS OLD. AND THIS IS THE STATE SHE HAS COME TO US IN.

We will be getting Dorry seen by a vet as a matter of urgency. She will receive all the veterinary care, treatment and attention she needs.
She's currently safe in a loving foster home, where she will be cared for, comforted and, most importantly, SHOWN LOVE. 💙

But what we can promise this little girl is that her life changes from today.
No more being unwanted. No more being passed around. No more being treated as though she doesn't matter.
BECAUSE SHE DOES MATTER. SHE MATTERS TO US.

As you can imagine, getting Dorry the veterinary care she desperately needs is going to come at a cost. From her urgent skin assessment and treatment to vaccinations, microchipping, flea and worm treatments, and eventually spaying when she's fit and well enough.

💙 BROCKIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!! 💙

Well, this is one of those posts that's a little bit emotional to write…
Our gorgeous boy Brockie went off to his forever home this morning! 🏡🐾

For so long, Brockie was overlooked. Why? Simply because he's an older boy. 💔

But today proves that the right family is worth waiting for!
Because Brockie's new family don't see his age as a negative. In fact, they see it as a HUGE positive! 🥰
They haven't just adopted a dog… they've adopted a ready-made, absolutely wonderful companion!
Brockie is house trained, he's well behaved, he walks beautifully on the lead, he absolutely loves his walks, and he's happy to be left on his own. All those things that people spend months, sometimes years, teaching a younger dog… Brockie already knows! 🐾
He's such a good boy, and all he needed was someone to look past the number and see the amazing dog standing in front of them.
And finally, his perfect family found him. 🥹
I won't pretend I'm not sad to see him go. It's been an absolute pleasure having Brockie in foster, and he's certainly left his pawprints on my heart. 🐾
But knowing he's gone to such an amazing, loving home, where he'll be cherished for the rest of his life, makes saying goodbye that little bit easier.
And the icing on the cake? I actually know his new family! 🥰 So I'll still get to hear all about his adventures, see his happy little face and receive regular updates. How lovely is that?!

Brockie, you might have had to wait a little longer than some, but you were never too old to be someone's perfect dog.
You weren't too old. You were just waiting for YOUR people.

Happy forever, beautiful boy. You deserve every single bit of happiness coming your way.

💙 IT’S ADOPTION DAY FOR RORY!💙

Well, we have another FAILED FOSTER! 💙🥹

Seven-month-old Cocker Spaniel Rory came into Rescue a few weeks ago after his previous owner struggled with some guarding behaviours

His lovely foster family took him in, fell head over heels in love, and has put so much time, patience and work into helping him. 💙

Although Rory has shown some of his previous behaviours, he's already making fantastic progress! His foster family knows there is still work to do, but they are more than happy to continue that journey with him.

Rory has officially found his forever home and has a lovely new name… BAILEY!

A huge thank you to his wonderful family for giving him the love, understanding and commitment he deserves.

Happy adoption day, Bailey! Have the happiest life, gorgeous boy! 💙🐾💙

💙RESCUE IS RUN BY VOLUNTEERS. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT OUR TIME AND EFFORT MATTER TOO💙

Today, we feel the need to express just how frustrating and disheartening rescue work can sometimes be.

Yesterday, we received an urgent request to take in a 9-week-old Cane Corso cross puppy.
As many people will appreciate, large-breed dogs, particularly Cane Corsos and their crosses, are not always easy to rehome. Taking on a puppy like this is a big commitment for any rescue, especially when we know finding the right home may be challenging.
However, despite those concerns, we didn't hesitate. We jumped straight into action.
Within hours, we had arranged a suitable foster home, ready to welcome this puppy first thing this morning. In less than 12 hours, he could have been safely in rescue, with a foster family and the opportunity for a secure future.

We had already received adoption applications, arranged home checks, ordered puppy food and organised the supplies he would need.
All of this was done by volunteers, giving up their own time to help a puppy they believed urgently needed them.

And now? Silence.
Unfortunately, the owner has stopped responding to our calls and messages, leaving us completely in the dark.

We fully understand that circumstances can change. Perhaps the owner has decided to keep the puppy, or perhaps another arrangement has been made.
But all it would have taken was ONE message.

"We're really sorry, but we've managed to sort something for him now. Thank you for your help, but we no longer need rescue."

That's it. One simple message.

And do you know what? We would have been absolutely fine with that.
Because ultimately, this isn't about the time we've spent, the arrangements we've made or the money we've committed. It's about the puppy.
All we want to know is that he is safe, that he is okay and that he hasn't simply been handed over to just anybody without proper checks or consideration for his future.
A 9-week-old Cane Corso cross is not a puppy that should be passed from pillar to post or handed over to the first person willing to take him. He needs a responsible, knowledgeable home that understands the commitment involved.
If he is safe, loved and in the right hands, then that is all we care about. That is why we do rescue in the first place.
But when communication suddenly stops, we are left worrying about what has happened to him.
And that is the most upsetting part.
Behind every rescue offer is a team of people working incredibly hard behind the scenes.
We have families. We have jobs. We run businesses. We have our own dogs and personal commitments. Yet when an animal needs help, we rearrange our lives, make phone calls, find foster homes, organise transport and supplies, and do everything possible to get that animal to safety.

Every single person involved gives their time voluntarily.

Our foster carers also make sacrifices, preparing their homes and changing their plans to accommodate a dog in need.
We don't expect praise, recognition or even thanks.
But we do expect basic communication, honesty and respect.
When someone asks for urgent help and then simply disappears, it leaves an entire team wondering what has happened, and more importantly, whether the animal we were trying to help is safe.

We cannot keep chasing unanswered messages and calls indefinitely when there are so many other dogs desperately needing our help.

Please, if you contact a rescue for assistance and your circumstances change, just let us know.

We will never be upset that a dog has found a safe and suitable solution without needing to come into rescue.
At the end of the day, this is not about our pride, our inconvenience or wanting to be the ones who rescue the dog.
It's about ensuring that a vulnerable puppy has a safe future.
We don't need a thank you. We don't need an explanation. We just need to know he's safe.
Because the dogs will always come first. 🐾💙

💙 Today I finally got to meet our gorgeous Rolo! 💙
Rolo was one of the very first dogs we took into rescue, and quite literally, we were his last chance. His owner was in temporary accommodation and couldn't keep him with her. With nowhere else for him to go, he was facing being put to sleep. 💔
We'd only just opened our rescue doors when we were asked to save this big Old English Bulldog. I was in Coventry, Rolo was in Hull, and an amazing foster called Annette came forward in Norfolk! How we were going to make that massive triangle work, I had no idea. But we did! 💙
Annette did an incredible job preparing Rolo for his forever home, and then along came Lucy. We had other applications, but finding the RIGHT home for a big, strong boy like Rolo was so important. We couldn't afford to get it wrong.
Today, I finally got to see for myself just how happy he is. He's settled, content and absolutely adored. He gave me kisses, gave me his paw, and loved the new balls I took him. He's just the most beautiful, gorgeous boy. 💙
Rolo has cost a lot of money to save and care for, but after meeting him today, I can honestly say every single penny has been worth it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Annette for stepping up when we needed you most, to Lucy for giving him his forever home, and to every single supporter who donated and helped us save his life.
This is why we do what we do. This is what rescue is all about. 💙💙💙

OUR LITTLE RORY HAS HAD A BIG DAY!

Our gorgeous little cocker spaniel Rory went into the vets today to be neutered — and he’s done amazingly!

He was such a good boy and, of course, everyone at the vets absolutely loved him. 🥰 He’s now safely home with his wonderful foster parents for lots of TLC. He’s feeling a little sorry for himself tonight, but we’re sure he’ll soon be back to his usual bouncy self!

For dogs like Rory, neutering can be a really important part of their care and, where hormones may be contributing to certain behaviours, it can also form part of their wider behavioural support.
But none of this is possible without YOU.

Vet bills are one of our biggest costs, and every donation, monthly subscription, raffle ticket, event you attend and item you donate for us to sell on Vinted or Facebook helps us pay for care like Rory’s.
It might only feel like a few pounds, a raffle ticket or a bag of unwanted clothes — but put it all together and it keeps this rescue running.

💙APPLICATIONS STILL OPEN FOR VEGA 💙

Our beautiful girl Vega is now 9 weeks old and is ready to find the right forever home. 🏡🐾

Because of Vega’s breed mix, we are looking for a home with good experience of large, intelligent, working breeds and people who fully understand the time, commitment, training and consistency she will need as she grows.

🧬 Vega’s breed mix:

48% Belgian Malinois
• 33% German Shepherd
• 18% Rottweiler

These are incredibly intelligent, powerful breeds, so Vega needs a home that is prepared to put the work in from the beginning and continue her training, socialisation and mental stimulation throughout her life. Please research these breeds before applying.
Vega is an absolute sweetheart.
She is very dog friendly, child friendly and such a clever little girl.
At just 9 weeks old, she is already:

🐾 Almost house trained
🐾 Sitting on command
🐾 Giving paw
🐾 Learning “up”
🐾 Working on lots of other things every day

She has had her first vaccination and is awaiting her second. She is also wormed and flea treated and is ready to move into her forever home now.
If Vega remains in foster with me, she will be starting a training course with a trainer this month to continue giving her the best possible foundations. However, she is absolutely ready to start that journey with her forever family now 💙
Vega has so much potential in the right hands. We are not looking for just any home for her — we are looking for a committed, experienced home that understands what these breeds need and is prepared to put the time and effort into helping her become the incredible adult dog we know she can be.
