Lifespan offers a range of support for our patients and their families and carers. This includes...
Counselling - a chance for patients and carers to talk through difficult issues, to be listened to and to explore what is important to them at this time.
Complementary Therapies - gentle touch therapies such as massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, Indian head massage and reiki, to sooth, relax and help ease difficult symptoms, offering patient and carer 'something for them'. Acupuncture to help relieve problems such as nausea, pain and hot flushes.
Nutritional Advice - helping patients explore healthy options when eating is difficult, appetite is poor or energy is low.
Art Work - an opportunity to be creative in any way that is practicle, meaningful or enjoyable.
And especially for carers...
A Sitting Service - a chance to leave your loved one in safe hands and good company while you take a little time out.
Bereavement Support - continued support for the family when a patient has died.
Referrals - as well as accepting referrals from healthcare professionals, individuals and families are able to refer themselves.
