WELL DONE!

To our latest group of trainees who completed their Lowland Rescue Licensed Search Technician training yesterday (Sunday). This follows many hours of training, learning and assessments and they go back to their Districts ready to answer the call.

Our thanks as always to the training and other volunteers who give up even more of their time to get the folks to the finish line.

Well done and welcome.

OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Yes, sadly we all have to wait another year for the next North West Truck Run.

The weather stayed good as trucks gathered at the University of Ulster, Coleraine ready for the truckers to come along and get their diesel fix.

To bring the event to a close, we had ourselves a convoy as the drivers took the display on the road to drive the route of the NW 200 motorcycle race, led by the Land Rover as seen on Car SOS.

As the Truck Run grows year on year we would like to thank everyone who made it such a success.

So, a massive thank you to our volunteers, to the companies and drivers for taking part, to the public for their continuing support and to our event sponsors... CP Hire, Castle Engineering, Fridge Freight, LW Surphlis, and RTU Concrete - without all of you it wouldn't happen.

See you all for the North West Truck Run 2027.

p.s. comment below and give yourself a gold star if you spotted the movie reference...

🚨📺 WE’RE ON TV! 📺🚨

We’re incredibly excited to share that our Car SOS episode airs this week, and it’s one you won’t want to miss!

Our much-loved Land Rover Defender has been given a full restoration, thanks to the amazing Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw, alongside the team at Britpart. They’ve not only brought it back to its former glory, but added some very special extras to support our lifesaving work 👏

This vehicle plays a vital role in what we do, so seeing it transformed like this means a huge amount to our team and volunteers.

Make sure you tune in and see the incredible journey for yourself, we can’t wait for you all to see it! 🙌

🚛 And even better - you’ll be able to see it in person at the North West Truck Run on Saturday 2nd May in Coleraine. Don’t miss it!

STORM CHANDRA SEARCHES

Today during Storm Chandra our volunteers continued with searches using specialist sonar equipment and our Search & Rescue boats on the River Lagan for a high-risk missing person last seen on the Ormeau Road area on Wednesday 21st January.

On a separate section of the River Lagan, during the search for a separate high-risk missing person last seen in the Dromore area on Tuesday 20th January, today our Search & Rescue Technicians where alerted to a number of residential homes beginning to flood due to the river bursting it's banks. CRS where able to send additional resources to help local residents combat the rising water levels in within their homes while ground teams continued with the search.

Our teams will be on the ground late into the evening continuing with the 2 searches while additional resources remain on standby for any further taskings.

Our thoughts remain with the friends and family of the missing persons during this difficult time.
