Poland leading the way! The UK should follow suit ๐๐ต๐ฑ๐ฌ๐ง
โฝ Poland is temporarily cutting VAT on fuel from 23% to 8% โ and will introduce daily maximum prices at the pump.
The policy begins August 17 and will run until at least August 31. Prime Minister Donald Tusk says the measures should lower prices by around 1 zลoty per litre.
The change comes after higher global oil prices and the end of earlier relief measures pushed fuel costs up. Current average prices are about 7.29 zล for 95-octane petrol and 8.09 zล for diesel.
The government estimates the earlier version of these measures cost the state budget 4.7 billion zลoty. This time, it is betting that relief at the pump is worth the price.
Poland did not just survive history. It is trying to make the daily drive easier.
