One of the issues residents raise most often is the condition of our roads.
It's therefore good to see Essex Highways carrying out resurfacing works on Old Heath Road this week.
Whilst roadworks can be inconvenient in the short term, maintaining and improving our roads is essential if we want safer and more reliable journeys.
Thank you to Essex Highways and Essex County Council for investing in local infrastructure.🙏🇬🇧

The Essex Highways teams will be carrying out machine resurfacing on several roads this week to improve safety and reliability for residents and road users.

This work removes worn out road surfaces and replaces them with a new full depth surface, helping roads cope with heavy traffic for years to come.

This week, the team is working at:
• B1256 Railway Street, Braintree
• Old Heath Road, Colchester
• B1057 The Broadway, Stebbing
• A127 westbound at Rayleigh Weir
• Margaretting Road, Writtle
• Devonshire Road, Burnham on Crouch

Please plan ahead and check for roadworks before you travel on the Essex Highways website.

Today is the 44th anniversary of the end of the Falklands War.

As a veteran, I believe war memorials should remain places of remembrance and reflection, not venues for political campaigning of any kind. Whether it's party politics, foreign conflicts, or activist causes, there is a time and a place. Our war memorials should unite us in remembering those who served and sacrificed for this country.

​Hiya everyone, Becky here with an update on our car situation... and honestly, we just need to ask for your biggest prayers, wishes, and good vibes right now. 😔🙏🚗

​Simon spoke to Citizens Advice, and they confirmed exactly what we knew: The dealer who sold simon that bad car is legally required to refund us in FULL. They are absolutely not allowed to deduct that £200. 📜⚖️

​But behind the scenes, Simon is so incredibly upset and worried. 💔 Some amazing followers and friends have tipped us off about the owner's past business history filled with struck-off companies and painfully late or unpaid refunds. Knowing this has left us both absolutely terrified that we might not see our hard-earned money again. 😢 Total anxiety has set in.
​It is just so cruel.

For nearly 32 years since he was just a teenager Simon has looked after Colchester and North Essex. 🏙️❤️ From buying thousands of pounds of toys for sick children, to delivering baby formula to struggling mums, to getting grants for family train trips. Simon always puts everyone else first. He works so hard to bring joy to others and never, ever asks for anything in return. 🧸🍼🚂

​Seeing him this deflated, when all he wants to do is get his Special Train Sets delivered to the beautiful Special Needs Schools in Colchester and Clacton next week, is just devastating. 🏫💔 He just wants our family back on the road so he can keep helping people.

​✨ Please, please join me in wishing, hoping, and praying that this company does the right thing and returns every single penny of our money swiftly. ✨

​Simon has spent over three decades being the light in so many people's darkest times. Now, I just pray the universe shines some of that light back on him when he needs it most. 🕯️💖
